Front one way diff: WOWZERS!!!
I just installed this today and my car can outdrift my TC4 and my buddies Yokomo.
If I need a harder angle, I just tap the breaks and the rear slides out then when I get the desired angle I just gas it again. WHen I hit the brakes, the front keep rolling while the rear locks. It's o so real!!!!!!!!!!!! Best upgrade yet for drifting mania. |

ORIGINAL: fl0PPsy I'm glad my advice worked out for you ;) Now get those new dampers on you mentioned and you'll be in dori heaven ;) Are you running the rear toe in uprights yets ? floppsy, You are the DRIFT GURU!!!! I'm running the dampers, rear toe, and the front one way and I must say, I don't want to drift with anything else. I used to love drifting my Yoke or my TC4 and shelve the TT 01 because it was a sloppy thing that aggravated me. It was inconsistent and just frustrating. Now, all I wanna drift with is my TT 01. THe front one way, as you said exactly, it like drifting a real car utilizing the e brake. O yea, I have the wheel adapters coming and the aluminum arms and titanium drive shafts. I'm kinda hesitatnt installing them because it's like a perfect car. One thing I WONT install that's coming in the mail is the ball differential that I was going to install. I wont install it because I locked the rear diff with blue tack and the car just rocks beyond belief. |

RE: Front one way diff: WOWZERS!!!
So if someone has a Xray with the Multi diff, they can switch it to a one-way and have drifting action like a full scale Top Secret S15?

RE: Front one way diff: WOWZERS!!!
Hmm rear toe in is something I have to try on my TT01. I think I'll get some 2 degree toe in blue alloys ;) Cheers for the feedback!
The alum. arms will make the car a little heavier and more rigid which can give you one of 2 effects (or both). 1. If you run on rougher surfaces then the car will be a little more sure footed and wont bounce around as much. 2. The extra weight adds to your momentum so you need to be on the ball a little more when it comes to transitions and how much the car will swing out. Lately I've actually been thinking of going back to the plastic arms but for now I like the bling ;) hehe |
RE: Front one way diff: WOWZERS!!!
I've recently, in the last week added a front one way to my TT-01... which has a rear locked diff as well running on abs... I can definitely see the good in it... but it can put a damper on other things... for example... REVERSE! ouch... reversing without the 1 way was a breeze, but with the 1 way it's kind of annoying because only the rear wheels spin and the traction with ABS makes it sort of difficult. Problem number 2 isn't really a problem but the brake bias has to be adjusted properly, if you drift at very slow speeds you'll be fine, but i like doing some higher speed drifts and you have to allow the brake to be eased VERY gently because a tad too much and the car will just 180 making you look like a douche.
My biggest problem is the area i run on normally is quite rough, and these drift cars with very limited traction shine on the smoothest possible surface. All in all though, i'd say I like the extra control added with the front 1 way, but for some people, they may not find the benefit worth it. |
