hehehe Stripping screw holes is something that you do in the beginning. I did it on my TT01. By the time you get to your 3rd chasis you know that as soon as the screw feels tight you STOP! If anything comes loose after that then dont just try to screw it in further. Instead use some thread lock.

The threaded holes you have on your TT01 can be fixed real easy too. Did it to mine and all my screws sit tight again now. Just pour some CA into the hole and let it set solid (and I mean really let it dry for a day or 2), then get a drill bit thats 1mm smaller than the screw your going to put in and drill the middle of the hole out again. Then put your screw in and your done ;) Works a treat and saved me from having to buy another chasis tub because the holes I screwed up by getting too excited with the screwdriver where the ones that hold the front and back gearbox covers on and therefore also the shock towers. Bad place to have stripped screw holes because if the shock towers arent nice and stiff then the whole car just feels sloppy and drives like crap (can also cause the diffs not to rotate nicely).

hey thats a good tip! thanks! i actualy just put a dab of ca in the hole and then put the screws in imediatly after, wait for it to dry and i'm back on the road. i 'll try your method when my my screws fall out.:D

ORIGINAL: TIGER76

tamiya is a very bad brand
dude wot u on about do u know anything about rc at all lol

they charged me 100 bucks too
they charged you a 100 bucks to build it lol,you say your having problems with ur tt-01 why not rebuild it then? if u would of done that in the first place you prob wouldnt have any problems,or get a lazt RTR kit.

makes me laff people buy kits then moan when they have to work on them, the tt-01 needs a lot of hopups to make it run smooth and even then it isnt the best drift car out there, but bang for buck its a great starter car,and can outdrift the best if you get enough pratice in :D
um thanks for this awsome advice?

also. the bottom gearbox holders those holes on the chassis strip the quickest. but when building initially or afterwards, just use some thread lock and they will stay forever!!
AND WATCH FOR OVERTIGHTENING. tt01 tubs strip so easily, but at least the are a dime a dozen so keep a spare tub frame for the one day you might need it.

i always have two extra tubs.
my one tt is a shelf queen (all red aluminium)
and the other i built now and its already stuffed up, but running like a dream. still wanna try my 12 turn QUad Mod motor in it (49500 revs).
