RE: TT-01 discussion

sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but...
I have a tt-01 and want to use it as a drift car. the stock silver can motor just doesnt cut it for drifting so i want to replace it for something else. i want to keep the standard esc, so what motors can i run?
my mate has the sports tuned motor, so would like something better then him lol
i've been looking at the Tamiya GT-Tuned 25T, Tamiya Super Stock TZ 23T or the Tamiya Super Stock RZ 23T. will any of these work? ive been looking at the specs and these motors have good torque (good for drifting right?)
one last thing, what is the difference between the Super Stock TZ and RZ?
thanks

RE: TT-01 discussion

The tamiya superstock motors are good and will work with the TEU-101BK. I think the blue one TZ is tuned for torque and the red RZ is tuned for slighly more speed. I have heard that the stock ESC can handel alot but I have never pushed my ESC past the superstock TZ (23T).

Also if you can get your hands on Team Orion "Method" motors I would recommend them. Good for the money.

RE: TT-01 discussion

I would recommend the team orion or the trinity komodo dragon

RE: TT-01 discussion

or the trinity charmeleon 19x2.

RE: TT-01 discussion

all of these motors are ok to be used with the stock 101 esc?

haydenspelman 01-13-2008 04:29 AM

RE: TT-01 discussion

I am using my komodo dragon with my completely stock esc and its fine

RE: TT-01 discussion

the tto1 is your best bet! http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKSG3&P=7 . this is the tt01-r, personally this is the best tt01 for drifting because it comes with everything (hop-up wise) that you would want to put in anyways on a stock tt01. just need your electronics and your all set. you can find deals for electronics on many rc websites like this one for cheap.

just me 2 cents.

@anthony83

That is one hot TT-01! Not sure what to tell you on the steering slop problem. I am having the same problem with stock steering rack so I am going to swap out for the Tamiya aluminum rack.

My rebuild has started. I have everything I need now parts wise I just need time. I spent a few minutes tonight tearing down and doing a little cleaning.
