RE: Tire Balancing
IMO its just better to have your tires balanced, as it just makes everything run smoother. and then you jump the tires arent jerking all over the place. its easy all, you need is some plumbers putty.

How important is tire balancing? What high quality instruments are used to balance rc tires? Offroad, 1/10 mostly.

I wish they made small pneumatic tires just like the one's we have on real cars or lawn mowers , They would be balanced and last alot longer.

Balancing with an off road car/truck is pointless because dirt is going to get inside the wheels and unbalance your tires.

RE: Tire Balancing
Balancing tires is a good idea, especially for off road trucks, which have thicker, heavier, more massive tires, more prone to unbalanced construction from the factory. It will help reduce vibration while running, it will help with high speed of course, and just keeps things more efficient. The reduced vibration will also ensure your car/trucks servos don't jitter, as well as preventing screws from coming loose too soon.

That must be why all the fast guys do it at the big races, and local bashers don't understand its value.

Don't know how your outdoor off road tracks are, but around here our outdoor off road tracks are actual OFF ROAD TRACKS, none of that blue groove BS

Yeah, because clumps of dirt that get inside the tire before TURN ONE while bashing doesn't unbalance a perfectly balanced tire that's going to see 10-12 more laps during a 7 minute heat

Robbie...if you think the only way to get dirt on an OFF ROAD car is by having a sloppy mudhole of a track, you need to crawl out of your little shell of a world down there in Jawjuh and make it to some tracks in other states

RE: Tire Balancing
Maybe it's just an Ohio problem. I've raced from Florida to California, and I guess nowhere where mudholes are the norm.
Maybe you guys should use the water hose less often, or just get out more to see how others do it.

RE: Tire Balancing
My opinion is, tire balancing is worth the while, especially for racers. I'm not much of a basher, but a racer.
Don't know if any of you have driven a full scale vehicle of any kind with an unbalanced tire, it ain't comfortable and quiet the opposite if balanced. 40 mph in a full scale is unreal unbalanced and I can only imagine how it is for a 1/10th, being the tires spin MUCH FASTER than full scale at the same speed because of tire diameter.
I spoke with a factory team driver today and he said he balances his tires because they rid of unnecessary vibrations and adds to traction. He also added that when the tires are glued to the wheels and holes poked into the tires for pressure release, will not allow much dirt to the inside, as the rubber wheels stay closed unless pressure is built.
He said tire balancing is extremely important when racing, but not so much for bashing.

RE: Tire Balancing
I found this on you tube someone inflated thier tires on beadlock rims.
It would be nice if it worked you could have pneumatic tires.

Sand and dirt wouln't get in them and they would relatively balanced. Just like real tires.
