Default RE: Anyone a fan of overkill?

heres a pic dam shes pretty on 6s this thing is crazy one of the pics sho all the stick on weights almost 2 1/2 lbs i had to ad to keep the front end down and not to keep it down from the weight of the motor because i dont think any amount will do that but is there to keep it down because at those speeds those cars are not very areodinamic and the truck tries to come off the ground the reason i know it can do over a hundred is be cause i got in trouble at ocean shores with it the oficer came over and told me i cant drive any vehicle at those speeds on the beach because it was part of highway 101 and that he clocked me at over a hundred with it

Im calling TOTALBS unless I see a video of it running at speed with a calibrated radar gun. The thing looks quick but sure not 100mph quick. or 90. or 80. or even 70.

Besides, take a look at XRC mag, issue 175 (July 2010) and look at all they had to do just to make one do EIGHTY. Yours is showy for sure with all the nice shiny, heavy aluminum but its more OVERbuilt than my racer is. No way it does 100. Get the proof Ill retract my statement. This isnt "lets keep our pants up and brag about who has a bigger johnson" day. You claim 12 inches but yer girlfriend says youre only slingin 5.

the stock velinian motor is able to hit 60 and that motor is rated at 3 hp at 50,000 rpm the mamba monster is rated at 7hp at 60,000 rpm do the math

no, the vxl motor will barely make 800 watts with a real controller (non vxl) on 4s

and all that showy as you call it was to widen the car to make it more stable at high speed and no its not hard to make them go fast you just have to over come the lack of areodinamics that the truck has it wasnt ment to do those speeds thats why i put that body on there and all that weight in the nose and im not saying that it could drive around like that it was good in a sraight line in short bursts whith that much power pushing it the tranny and drive lines would over heat i melted a couple of tranny cases and a few hardend steel shafts running it to long . so before you start howling about bs just remeber i took almost a year and 2 gs to make it do that alot of the stuff on that car is one off because there was nothing on the market that would do what i wanted it to . like the owner of my local hobby shop says i didnt think out side the box i made a hole new type of box he suggested i show my car to rc mag

I know castle claim something like 4000 watts on 6s but that would be 160 amps constant at 25 volts, not gonna happen for more than .0010 seconds at a time IMO.

I'm a frind of the guy who built that car and the main limiting factor of that car is the wind picking it up and tossing it like a rag doll. The ocean shore was a good place to test it, because it was flat and needed a lot of room at that speed. I'm not a human radar gun but I can say it can do 100 mph. That car was insane!

It's all in the eye of the beholder, I agree, but do the math. Look at the specs on the m.m. esc and motor. Minimal rotational mass +that much power. Like I said the limiting factor is the wind. But what would i know I do 150 on my sportbike and it feels like 200.

math is nothing compaired to the real thing when calculating speed.

really? if you guys new anything about speed, you would know that that truck is set up incorrectly. first it sits to high, second tires have too much sidewall, and will ballon makeing the truck unstable. do you know exactally how much drag is in the drive terrain? do you know how much wind resistance that body has? the real way to calculate the speed is to get out their with a radar gun and proove it.

Ballooning is good for gearing. I'm not going to reply teach you everything. The pics were with the truck proped all the way up without all the weight.

hahaah lol balloning isn't good. it causes a loss of control.

Your right, but like my origianal statement ,the wind was the limiting factor not the ballooning.
