ThunderbirdJunkie - how do you like your 14t brushed system? and does it hold its own against brushless systems when racing?

Nice b4.1 btw!

Thanks...and yeah, the car really has more than enough power. Sure, other buggies may have more power, but using that power usually results in wheelies down the back straight (which, with traction, this motor is more than capable of doing).

Just remember, though; not all brushed motors are created equal. This Trinity 14x2 makes more power than a Venom 14x2, and will last longer to boot. A good brushed motor usually costs at least half what the big dog name brand (Novak, Tekin, etc) brushless motors cost ($40+ in the US for a good one).

The Cyclone/Trinity 14x2 combo will eat any brushed RTR for lunch, and a lot of RTR brushless systems (VXL included), power wise.

how would this 11x1 motor go in a b4 with a long stretch but also a few quick turns?

http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-brushed-motor-1022t-peak-racing-vantagesurikarn-edition11x1t-7811-p-15984.html?cPath=293_944

also, what kind of speeds should i be expecting with the reedy 17t  and a lipo?in the 25mph range or closer to 20mph?

2 cell you should be able to do high 20s, maybe even 30 if you're geared for a big track. The Reedy motor is OK, but a higher end 19 turn motor would really be a much better, torquier motor than the 11x1 that will not only carry you down the straight pretty rapidly, but provide you with a lot of point-and-squirt from corner to corner.

It's VERY VERY doubtful that the stock ESC in the 4.1 will handle an 11 turn motor, anyway...and TBH the speed control doesn't deal well with abuse. You're way better off going with the brushless version, going up 2 or 3 teeth on the pinion, and it will be more than fast enough.

if i were to go with an 11 turn id go with the moped bravo v16r, (can handle up to a 10t)

i will look at the brushless version but im not convinced just yet its the right setup for me.

argh i hate tower, they bring out the new supersaver ad numbers but then lower their prices by a few dollars so that you have to addd something else small into the cart to get the reight cart price, then your shipping costs go up (from 60 to 80 for international customers)

the b4.1 brushed and brushless both are like this,  im going to ask how much it is from my lhs.

Here are some of mine.

Tamiya Fox. Pic taken shortly after it was purchased. Currently has new body and decals. Complete traxxas running gear.

Mini Fox. All stock for now. Fun to run around the house. Not much fun outside.

The Falcon twins. Red one is a runner. Blue one is a restored shelf queen.

Tamiya Mad Bull - Is this considered a buggy or the worlds first truggy?

Grasshopper 2 runner. Was a complete basket case when I got it literally.. It was in a a laundry basket with a bunch of misc cars and parts.

Super Hornet twins. One is now completely restored. The other is a runner.

Tamiya Fire Dragon. Completely stock.

My old Raider ARR. What a disappointment.

The Evader BX Pro. This is the car that got me on a first name bases with every person at my LHS. Worst car I have ever owned PERIOD. If this thing ran for more that 5 mins without breaking something or stripping a gear it was a miracle.

The Baja Champ twins. Black one has been restored to shelf duty. White one is a runner.

VXL bandit. Everyone should one one of these and a 3S LiPo. Easiest way I've found to run 70+ mph

Here are the Associated brothers. Their about 20 yrs apart.

Lets play a game. You tell me what this car is...

Shelf queen Grasshopper 2

Shelf queen Grasshopper.

Many more in the collection. I just need to update my photos this spring.

We have a winner. It's the MRC Desert thunder buggy. Here's a pic for comparison. That is a B4 sitting next to it.

You got so many buggies id go nuts with that many.
But for what I payed for my 501x in 2008 for $550 you could buy a B4 and a VXL Bandit.[&:]
That's not counting the $300 tekin brushless system that's in it either...

The Frog was my first RC car and it nice to see a picture of one! Have not done the cars for awhile but looking forward to seeing the pictures of all yours, I did the car thing for ove 20 years and went to planes but seeing some of the pictures so far took me back to a hobby I very much enjoyed! Thanks in advance for posting other pictures!

Here are a couple of more pics for today.

This is a re-re Hotshot. Pic taken right after it was assembled. Tried a VXL systme in it and found it to be too much. Returned it to silver can power and she's a fun runner.

This is another GrassHopper Runner. This one came in that same basket of parts the GH2 was in. Too far gone to restore so it's a runner.
