Oh? Well anything is better than a titan IMO. It'll be a little slower than your titan though. But in the long run you should still go brushless

12t is a 550, the 13t is a 540 and will run hotter, you'll have to regear. 13t is actually a pretty aggressive wind, 17t or 19t would last you longer and run cooler

but I don't see the point in tossing more money at brushed motors

$20 here, $20 there and all of a sudden you've spent more money than if you'd just bought what you wanted in the first place

What in the world is holding you back from the beauty and amazement of brushless power?

maybe he might have money on other projects ect. but for the original question, i don't like venom, there quality control is terrible, one excellent product then one crap one. Out of the 4 venoms stuff i owned, 2 don't work, one was the pro charger which electricuted me when i touched it, the other was a helicopter. I actually have a venom lipo charging bag which i don't trust will prevent a lipo fire [X(]

What ever you go with always gear a bit to the torque side and moniter heat. Traxxas cars are geared to the top speed side for a bigger number on the box.

Also keep in mind, I believe the XL5 ESC is only rated for a minimum of 15 turns on 540 motors. I would check that before buying a 13 turn and ending up with more problems.

You're going to have 2 problems here.

1) Fireball motors are junk plain and simple. I was drawn in by the low price too many years ago and every one of them died very early deaths. One was so bad the rotor was hitting the magnets inside the can when it was brand new. I don't often slam a brand but those are junk... Sorry If I offend anyone.

2) A 13 turn 540 is lower than the XL5 ESC can handle reliably. It will run the motor but it will run hot and eventually fail.

You will also have to gear the 13 turn really low even in a Bandit to keep the motor from over heating.

If you have to stick with brushed motors then find a 15 turn Speed Gems or buy another Titan and break it in correctly. The Titan is not as bad as some people make it out to be if it's broke in and maintained. If you don't take care of it then you should expect it to fail.

completely agree
I tried a 21d, and that sucker lasted 20 feet before overheating in a damn Brama 10b geared low...

Venom's Fireball motors are junk, and aptly named.

There is no such thing as a good, cheap brushed motor.

Fireball motors do suck.

I used to run them in my former SC10.

Not much torque at all and after couple runs, motor emits weird squeaking noise.

yeah thats the one im thinking of getting. but first i need to get a new charger that is capable of charging lipos. thats another $40 added onto that....i have $500, but my dad doesn't like me spending too much on my car when i have school. thats why i might order it on spring break or somewhere around there.

With 500$ sell your bandit and buy a savage flux 2350. You'll still have enough to get a decent charger and some Turnigy lipos
