The best brushless motor is one that is fast and runs cool in your intended application. There is no right answer to this question.
To some, a Castle 1520 1600kv motor is going to be the best. To others, a Tekin 4.5 540 motor on 1S will be the best.

TBJ got it right. Everyone is going to have their opinion.
In my opinion, the Novak Ballistics are the best overall line of brushless motors. Now, remember, I am an oval guy and run 10th scale pan cars on single cell lipo.
Just depends on what your intensions are.

don't buy into the idea that kv is power, voltage is power, get the highest voltage your esc can take and get a motor based on the car and usage, a 3s 4000 kv motor will spank all over a 1s 12000 kv motor in 90% of applications. If you got a 6s esc and a 1850 kv motor that will typically spank all over the 3s 4000 kv
I love Lehner motors but its so much easier buy a cheapie $30-60 china motor than drop $220-660 on a fine piece of german perfection.
