Default Help with ID please?

I'm looking to convert a nitro truggy/buggy/sct into brushless and found this as a roller. What is it and will it handle a decent brushless motor? The add says "Storm"

Looks to be an HPI MT2 or HPI RS4 maybe. But idk if those are 4wd like this one. Hard to tell honestly. But it's not the HPI Nitro Firestorm, or HPI Storm. The storm didn't have a front bumper like that nor was it 4wd.

Converting it might be tricky, if you don't wanna do alot of custom work and are looking for bolt-ons.

Well I have an idea for the motor mount already so we'll see.

I know it's 8th scale because in the picture it is slightly longer than the Exceed Titan it's sitting buy.

And if by "Storm" it means Firestorm it looks remarkably close to what HPI shows as the Firestorm, BUT that's why I'm hear I don't know much about nitro or HPI. If it is the Firestorm, how well do the diffs and shafts hold up? I noticed your sig says that yours screams.

It looks similar to the HPI Trophy, but its not.

Its nothing like the HPI Firestorm.

nope not part of the HPI RS4 family I've owned the RS4, and the MT line, and on all the motors on the opposite side, and the plates not purple on a MT2
Also the center gear looks nothing like that on the RS4's
looks more like some buggy that was made into a truck. The front bumper I will say looks like almost like it was off a MT2 though but the MT2 has 4 faux headlights where that has 2.

I'm fairly sure it is a HPI Hellfire top chassis plate... fuel tank, centre diff...
but I don't think the shocks, shock towers or bumpers are...

Its possible the whole truck is a Hellfire, with different shocks and shock towers...

Thank you all for your help. Doing some checking on the Hellfire leads me to believe it wont work for what I want to do with it.

I've just read other people saying the diffs don't hold up very well, the diff cases are weak and flexible.

Ahh. Could be a hellfire with some mix-match work. I'm not a big 1/10th nitro guy, so the RS4 or MT2 were my best guesses.

Maybe it's just some wierd aftermarket shocks, I know some people make different looking ones for other trucks, might be the case here. And just a thrown in bumper from another truck for looks. Seems to fit the bill, as other people have said before this.

those shock towers look the same as the pic from what I can see from the angle

ok missed the shocks yup the ones in the pic are different seeing even the RTR hellfire had threaded shocks.

what X? looked on HPIs site at pics of the rtr, and kit and don't see an X.

will say the shock towers in the beat up ass one in the OP's post the screws are missing from the braces, and they are off to the side though

I'm aware that the Hellfire is an 8th scale... I was referring to my comments about the RS4 and MT2...

And the rear shock does look screwed up. Upon closer, and alas a more sober inspection, I'd say it's a regular old Hellfire with an Associated pipe and no motor, thus agreeing with Venom.

to justify the same price as the RTR - the engine

seriously thats how I see most kit forms of RTR's very little value added in options, but a ton of cash lost in stuff you could ebay
