They do with low output internal BECs, like those found in Castle ESCs. It depends on the ESC, the servo and application. I was very surprised to be having brownouts with no load from a 1258tg in a 1/10th 4wd truck when used with a Mamba Max Pro. This particular combination needs a BEC, others may not. As the saying goes, your mileage may vary.

The TTR stock ESC I believe is the hobbywing 150A pro unit which has a 5A BEC, probably adequate just about. Ask him if he's ever had any glitching, particularly when the steering is being strained. I also wonder if he did get a BEC if he would see significantly better performance from the servo. In 1/8th cars, a bec is just a good idea.

First, you open the package, then when you've removed the shiny electric bit, you see that papery bit you discarded? Read it!

I see that the Savox servo's take up to 6v. does that mean that 7v is too much for it?

RE: Ofna LX2e From Start 2 Finish
Haha well 1st run made it about 10 feet (I am sooo Pissed right now [:@]). i got the motor on and everything but i noticed that the Gear mesh was funny. Cause it was fine and about half of the spur but then when it hit a certain amount of teeth it would act like it was to tight. so i redid the gear mesh over 5 times and every time the same thing happened. so i just left it a little loose. and the i set it on the ground and it made it about 10 feet before eating the spur. Just ate it right up for some reason. And i don't know why (But I AM PISSED [:@]). I really hope ofna will replace it. But can anyone tell me why this could happen?????

had that issue with an RC once. I couldn't get the mesh proper no matter what it would be perfect then turn and be too tight adjust again perfect turn it a bit and then strip the spur same way
something was funky with the pinion, motor, or spur I had I'm not sure which cause I gave up on the RC for ages than had a new motor, and pinion laying around threw em in and no issues.. also dunno what I did to the parts I had on my one so I could never test which was the issue(and seeing the spur was trashed, I replaced that too).
