Default What is a good motor/ESC for Savage XS SS?

I just bought my first kit - the Savage XS SS. I have no idea what to buy for a motor and a speed controller! I can only spend about $200. It can fit 1/10th scale electronics, should I just get something like this: http://www.rcplanet.com/Castle_Creat...10-0066-07.htm ???

Get this, http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXXWM5&P=ML As much as I hate Traxxas, this is the strongest, fastest system I've ever seen. I've put it to the test, and it surpasses everything I've tried. If you have $200 to spend, and it's 1/10 scale electronics, then a 550 motor is the biggest that will fit. Don't run 3S though, that's too much. I've tried it. Run this with it, http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXBEAE&P=ML The 40C power with the 550 motor, and the 5000mah run time, makes it like the ultimate setup. I strongly think that this is what you want for the type of vehicle your putting together.

Oh man I used to have one of those Velinions lying around from an old broken Traxxas Stampede VXL but I don't know what I did with it!!!

Is that Velinion better than the Mamba Monster I posted? How does it compare?

The Velinion is a 550 can motor, and the mamba is a 540 motor. Higher number, bigger motor, more power! The velinion is a great thing. It has insane power on 2S, and extremely, outrageously, crazy power on 3S. I say again,...DON'T RUN IT ON 3S! Seriously. After buying the 3S battery, trying it out, you may not be able to return it since you used it. I got lucky....

this Castle system will run cooler while completely undressing the VXL in a drag race the only downside is it cost's just a little more but with tower discounts will still be under 200.00

DO NOT put a vxl in the savage. it will either run hot or be slow. with a strict budget of 200 I definitely recommend the hobbywing setup 2 post above mine. it is a lot more motor than the vxl.
