RE: Smooth
System,
I've got the Novak Super Sport in my XXX-4 and performance wise I can't fault it. The motor has plenty of low and power and takes my XXX-4 up to around 36-38 mph. Throttle control is excellent and I have to tone down the braking power or else when I hit bumps while braking my car likes to do an endo. Not having the brush/comm friction takes a little while to get used to because it freewheels very easily (no drag braking).
The only issue I've had so far is overall reliability. I've had one blown bearing and one fried ESC in 6 months. I will however commend the warranty service of Novak. Both times I had a problem with the system I sent it in for warranty repair and they sent out a brand new motor/ESC and had it to my door with in two weeks of me sending it off (no questions asked).
I love a company that stands by their product, even if it has a few problems along the way.
Also, on places to live in the Portland/Salem area. If you want a good middle ground Willsonville is a good place. It's about 15 miles south of Portland and 30 miles north of Salem on I-5. Not too crowded, but in the middle of everything. Personally I love Hillsboro but with traffic it takes a while to get around to most places (Hwy. 26 is really to small for the amount of traffic it carries).

Andy, it looks great! I am really happy to see that you are having fun. When you want to go a step up w/ you Rustler, the best thing you can do to it is get an ESC (Electronic Speed Control) for it. That would replace the stock MSC (Mechanical Speed Control). You will really love the difference!
Good Luck,

Griff, I really like the looks of your XXXS. Those blue wheels have me curious, are they aluminum? Can you post a pic of it's profile?
Thanks.

Yep Solid Aluminum Hard Core Racing rims (best quality touring rims on the market) run about 100 bux for full set, 49.99 a pair. I was actually was going to buy these but I waited and fortunately for me I aquired them in a trade with another RCU member (brand new) The cheapest I've seen them on ebay was 75 and there rarely there. The anodizing job is high quality with no fade marks or uneven color........definitely sweet....

Oh yeah and for -drifter bai- sorry about that, it almost has full bearings. I don't even think of those as upgrades anymore, more of a necessity. The steering links are bearingless but there on order. Everything else bearings.

RE: Smooth
Thanks Kevetz99 for the good word. I know about the diff in the speed control however I think what I'm going to do is. . . . 1)wait for the 20turn stinger to burn out then go and buy probably a 13-16turn and a good ESC. Then soon after I will prolly go for hub carriers and baearings (i think that's what they're called). Anyway thanks for the information. The first thing I did the smorning' was charge up my battery and gor drive lol. I can't enough of this beastly woman. For anyone who wants to know, the only problem I have had so far is that, when turning at high speeds on a high traction area, like the street I drove in, the tires have a slight tendancy to come out of their grooves in the wheels. No biggy though, only happened twice. I think I'm going to use some shoe goo to glue them in the grooves though. Well, everyon's cars in here look awesome. Kepp up the good work and drivn'!

RE: Smooth
Yes, my first tc was an xpress junior, but it had some weak links like the hubs (I got red alu. hubs after a couple of weeks) and the tie rods. Anyway I sold it and bought a XXX-S and a TC3 FT to keep up with the other guys at the track. But if u get some decent tires (LRP, Sorex, Orion etc.) and a good setup, I think it will be pretty fast because it is very light.
