RE: 50mph??
Absolutely. If you only run 6 cells, you will need a "drag" motor... like a 6 turn. That might do it.
Otherwise, all you need is a hot motor and 8 or 10 cells, and an esc that can take that many.
A few years ago, RCCA took a Stampede with a 10 turn motor and did something like 35 on 6 cells, but went over 50 on 10 cells. I don't recall the exact #'s, but that makes the point.
A T3 should do about 38-40 mph on 6 cells and a good hot mod, so 50 would be cake with a few more cells.
If I wanted to do 50 on a brushed motor, I would probably want @ 10T Trinity D6 and try 8 cells. If that wouldn't do it, add a couple cells and find an esc to take 10 or 12 cells.
BTW, stiffen up the suspension for that kind of speed [:@]

RE: 50mph??
If I was going to try that I'd start with a 7-8 turn motor, a 7-cell pack and go a few teeth higher on the pinion gear. You must have a good ESC and good connectors or solder joints to handle any real abuse such as this. Hope this helps!

RE: 50mph??
Yeah... the 7 turn would be the easiest thing to do, and with a good 7 cell pack it should get 50 but you might have to gear it higher than it should be. But then that's the cost of going fast, right? Just don't expect to run without cool down time with a setup like this.
Same goes for a setup like a 10 or 12 turn and more cells... the motors will be pushed pretty hard at 10-12 volts. The gearing may not have to be so aggressive so that may help.
Definitely need good electrics and batteries with good wire and connectors, etc as tekin said...

He is talking about a t3 not a tc3. You will have to gear your extremely high. Get like you said. d6 8t motor. Gear it about 22/78 on 8 cells will get you about 45-50 maybe. Bugt after a few runs you will probably fry your esc and motor.

RE: 50mph??
also, if you run more than 6 cells your motor will burn up much faster..i.e. wear out twice as fast..something to consider before you spend big bucks on a high end motor..

RE: 50mph??
just get a 6 turn with 7 or 8 cells. hopefully you can get over 50 befor the speed control shuts off or the motor melts. with a 6 turn motor you can expect 30 second runs.
