Some exstream racers run w/o connectors, they just direct wire batter to esc. It seems stupid, but if your in a close race vs. some one who has dean's and you direct wire, you will most likely win.

I like my UltraPlugs, the only people that say they suck either don't know how to solder, or aint very good at it:P

Zorak - the sad thing is that just about everyone agrees that soldering the esc to motor connections is the best bet (no need for a connector there anyway). This isn't some new revelation that you just had that's gonna change the rc industry.

The reason people are getting flared up is because dean's plugs are quite common between battery and esc, where you need to disconnect more often. I doubt you solder your battery leads...

Just because a connector isn't necessary in one specific place doesn't mean that it sucks. Your post is ridiculous, had no basis, and now you're upset that people made fun of you. If you're gonna open your mouth like that, people are gonna help you shove your foot in it.

i agree, if you make stupid posts and statements, expect to be made fun of. everybody that knows anything about rc knows that direct soldering is best, but deans plugs are the best alternative to make things simple

Actually, I have most of my motors wired with Deans plugs so I can run any of my motors in any of my electrics - no un-soldering and re-soldering required

Some guys do that if they swap motors a lot (or just want to keep it simple). You don't really see enough difference to matter in most cases anyway.

yeah, it works out well when swapping motors between the rs4 and the b2, considering i have more motors than cars.
also makes removal for maintenance a LOT easier.

That was so useful to know rustler08.

Soldering motors is pretty fast if you have a hot iron at hand.

if you solder de battery to the esc how in hell are you going to charge up your batt. I dont like to solder de esc to the motor, if i have a problem with the motor in the track i just have to change the motor and not the hole system. My recomendation. Get ultra plugs and learn how to solder.

On a pack that has leads going to a connector, you would connect a battery bar with one end sticking out to connect to - solder your wire from the esc to that. When you want to charge, remove the wire and use alligator clips with your charger.

Soldering the batteries to the ESC is only for deathly pro racing. For a basher like me, ill stick with my deans.
