Default RE: official evader st thread

Owner of an Evader St Pro, I want to change pinion and spur with Pro ones because it is well known that stock pinion and spur doesn't mesh well.

I read many posts and I realaized that Robinson Racing make good pinions and spurs.
For now I am running with a Photon Speed motor, but soon I'll upgrade to a powerful motore (19t ot 15t).

Now I wish help to chose the correct spur and pinion before ordering.
I think my car needs 48 pitch gears with appropriate number of theets and spurs for stealth transmissions are compatible.

I have choosed these ones. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...0&I=LXMF96&P=K Robinson Racing SuperLite Pinion Purple 48P 19T

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...0&I=LXEY11&P=K Robinson Racing Absolute Spur Gear 85T B2/T2

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...0&I=LXEX58&P=K Robinson Racing Aluminum Pro Pinion Gear 48P 23T

Anyone may suggest is this choice is correct, and what is the best radio between pinion and spur for a general use?

Thank you in advance

I've got an evader st with P2k2 pro, xxxnt custom painted body, graphite shock towers, tranny brace, and front brace. I use gp 3300's when I race in Daytona Beach, and its competitive with the losi's and associated's. I got 3rd last weekend. I don't have any pictures since I'm poor and don't have a digital camera. Does anyone know what type of spur I should use with RR Pinions??

Kar120c,

I suggest you do this, and not use the aluminum RRP pinions due to wear factors.

D6 13T Single (if you ESC can handle it)

g day guys i have an evader pro with a novak brushless ss5800 it really gets up and goes quite well but as you would all be thinking now how does the diff handle that lol..... well simply put it doesnt i reckon i get about 2 packs per repair so i have got all metal gears comin for it lots of thread lock for the diff adjustment and posibbly some light machine work and a second locking nut on the diff adjustment lol ( it really likes to break loose and end my fun) it runs a metal geared servo and i run some quite unusual bodies on it most of them you guys wouldnt recognise as they are aussie cars from the 70's but fun all the same, but i run the standard bod for racing heres apic but its not how it is now that wass after some serious bashing
i also made aluminium front bumper for it which really takes a beating it bends just enough to take a blow without ripping out screws etc..... but im making a better design this week it also helps ofset the extra weight of the novak

My evader is pretty broken up right now []

Slipper bushings are worn out, bumper is broke, diff gear is stripped, spur gear is worn out (not stripped, the teeth are just worn), and maybe some other stuff that I havent noticed.

Im changing up my tranny some, I ordered the stuff to put an assoicated composite diff gear in it. That should strengthen it up quite a bit as the AE composite gears are like 10 times stronger than the duratrax nylon gears. If the AE gear doesnt hold up for at least a month then Im going for a full metal tranny.

Nothing much, just normal bashing.

The diff gear stripped out form doing wheelies, the spur gear has been on it for over 6 months and has just worn down, teh slipper bushings wear out on a regular basis (about every other month for me), and the bumper has been cracked for a long time, it just recently broke off the rest of the way.

Whenever the parts come in, Im going to order them tommorow night so it should be all fixed up by next week.

In the meantime Ive got my hands full with my 1/8th buggy trying to get it in good shape for the weekend, I want to take it to the track but I keep having problems with the pullstarter.
