Default Anyone done a TC3 to TC4 conversion?

I have a carbon fiber kit coming that includes the chassis, braces, and arms. And also the TC4 steering rack and hinge pins. Got all this stuff from RCBoyZ on ebay, but they told me Associated's official stance is: you cannot convert a TC3 to a TC4. I just can't believe that. Anyone done it yet?

I'd believe that - at least to the point that (it's not gonna be simple). It's a totally new design, just like the T4 and B4. Those don't have a lot of interchangeable parts with the older versions either. Sounds like you just about have a complete chassis coming, so you shouldn't have too many tc4-specific parts to worry about.

The RCCarAction review of the TC4 seemed to indicate that the differential gearing was the same, I'm not sure if the housings are the same or not, and I plan to use my TC3 aluminum axles and shocks.

I don't know for sure - haven't tried to convert one... I can't imagine a problem with the shocks, and as long as the axle length hasn't changed, you should be ok there too. I guess you'll find out soon enough!

I do know the steering mechanics have changed substantially ... chasis changed slightly to allow better center of battery, etc., and I know the entire front end of the TC4 is completey adjustable where only certain aspects were on the TC3.
