Best bang for ure buck, 'eh? What are you looking to do, race?? Bash?? Or Both??

IMO

Bashing - TC4
Racing - Schuemacker(sp?) Mi2
Racing AND Bashing - I would think the Pro4

The TC4 Can be a racer, but a lot of money needed to spend at that.

Have any of you tried the HPI Sprint there seems to be a lot of bang for your buck there. It comes with everything u need and seems to be a decent car

Yeah I mean entry level ready to run not hardcore racer.

Definatly want something that can be bashed. Lower maintence the better.

The Losi comes with nice gear, how is the drive train in that on? The back gears hold up fine?

And would there be any problems with the differentials? Are the gears steel?

Thanks.

Gee no biased opinions in this thread. [:'(]

You want RTR? check out the XXX-S RTRII or the RTR TC4

Both can be upgraded to their more expensive/non RTR counterparts if so desired.
I think the 4-Tec is RTR as well, im not 100% on that

Id recommend a TC3 or TC4, I have a TC3 RTR, its a very nice chassis, although it is a bit pricey. Very good, race ready chassis tho

i would get the xxx-s rtr2 because it is the best rtr a sweet novak esc and a pretty good motor lots of upgrades like the losi black belt conversion and the graphite conversion for racing if desiered lots of parts to. the TC4 and TC3 are awosome FT kits but the losi beats all of them with the new JRX-S (that is not including hpi or yokomo or hoped up tc3 just stock)get the losi xxx-s rtr2

Best bang for your buck...... definatly the Losi xxx-s rtr 2. Its radio is way better than the Tc4s and its got better electronics. I like the body better than the TC4 rtr too.

Thanks for all the replies this is really helping!

What are the differentials like on the Losi? Steel, sealed and so called maintance free for the most part like the Sprint or equivalently sturdy?

I've had problems with electronics jamming and skitzing when they should not before too and I'm tired of that.

Would XXX-S be solid electronically? Seems like good stuff with it right out of the box.

Is it all ball bearings? Steering and everything?

I can get the Sprint 40 dollars less than the Losi canadian and I already have a JR XR2 remote so I could sell the airtonics remote but I wouldn't want to switch the reciever because I'm not sure if that was causing the skitzing.

If I got something new RTR setup what are the main things you need to maintain so that you won't have any real mechanical or electronic failures that could be avoided throughout the life of the car? Nothing worst then out having fun and something that shouldn't have busts and you're out for the day.

All input is appreciated thanks.

Racing - Schuemacker(sp?) Mi2
Racing AND Bashing - I would think the Pro4
I race both of those cars heres my review on both.

---MI2---
Harder to build, requires very little setup to create a winning car. If you get one buy alloy CVS's mine has a habbit of breaking them. but ovral it managed B finals. Belt driven so it will be better down straights.

---Pro4---
Alot easier to build, Harder to setup, but once setup its a winning car. More aggressive car. Axle driven so it will take off alot quicker. Ive only driven it once but its capable of B finals.

Garbage or not I just want something that works and I can have fun with without any troubles.

Maybe that's not possible with this whole hobby but that's why I created the post.

Doesn't have to be the greatest car ever and I don't want to spend a lot of money.

Just bashing fun racing my buddies around a couple boots in the driveway.

Thanks for all the replies!

How reliable is the Losi? Do all the gears/diffs, electronics, and structural compentents hold up fine over time?
