Grasshopper was kick arse in its day. Hopefully the hopup support is strong with the re-release of it. I'd go for it only if the hopup support is there.

just to tell you, st's are much better for jumping. and they are easier to control, and wipe out less often.

Getting a taste of nitro is like meeting a girl. Soon as you get interested into it, you'll end up in some quicksand up to your neck if you mess up. But in the long run, it pays off (no pun intended). Buggies are lots of fun, cant go wrong with them.

Yea, the Grasshopper is a groovy ride. It would be lots of fun, especially with an ESC/ motor upgrade.

I remember seeing the grasshopper raved about in RCCA many a time in the backlot or the ever so famous "VINTAGE RC" some magazine used to do. Great fun car.

If you were in Las Vegas, I'd suggest that you visit Danseys since the owner recently put together the Tamiya Hornet for himself and he also had the Tamiya Lunch Box in stock the last time I was there. However, since you are in Reno, can you just check them out at the Tower warehouse? If so, that may also help you decide.
