XXX-T With Some Good Lookin Leds
Heres my latest project. Cost $12 + 9v batteries. Look and enjoy. Any suggestions are welcome. And yes I know the paint is chipped. That's why I used it.

i would think it would be more of an invitation....kinda looks like landing lights..
not to insult too bad, just not where or what you would typically position leds.

1. "just not where or what you would typically position leds"
1. It seemed as good a place as any. 2. I finished at 10:15 p.m. yesterday evening and i didn't feel like proporly mounting them at that time.
3. "what are those tires "
3. Those tires are foams.
4. "What did you use two 9 volt batteries when you could have just spliced into the 7.2 volt connector? "
4. I didn't want to loose any run time and power. And it was easier this way.
5. The paint he used wasn't compatible with the body so it just chips off under pressure.
I just bought some more lights to mount onto the back. They will be connected to the back 9v battery.

I don't want to spend 20$ for a new body. The way they're mounted works just fine, i don't see any reason to remount them, I dont want to be drilling dozens of holes in my body for proper mounts. If I really need to do it with mounts I'll do it, not until then.

Well I am not going to be doing high speed runs or racing with this body. This is just to drive around at night and show off to other people. This was the easiest way in my oppinion.

if you really wanted to attract a crowd, use 4 WHITE LEDs on the front, 2 on each headlight. Use 2 red led's on the rear, one on each side to look like tail lights.

Hmm, this makes me wonder if there are any "pimp my r/c competitions" to see who can pimp out their R/C vehicle with the greatest style and win some kind of trophy.[:-] Whats next?, radio system installed in an R/C car? LOL

Thats what I wanted to do, the white leds and maybe some blue one. Radio shack was out of all thier white leds. I plann on getting some white ones and i might put them on my stock body. And i might use the blue ones and line them up on the top of the body like mood lights or something.
The radio idea is sweet I'm gonna look into it.

sorry man, but i think that body is butt ugly. get a new one, don't paint it, and put the led's in it. that would be so sik looking. the entire body would look red. [sm=biggrin.gif][sm=thumbup.gif]

Spray the body with some translucnet silver paint from Tamiya and then put some colored LEDs on the inside...now that would look funky.

I'm actually planning to do some LEDs on one of my old practice bodies. Our off-road track has no lights yet, and after work is the only time I have to practice. Considering the sun is long gone by 8:00 here, adding lights to the body would be a way to get in some extra practice..

Well, I just redid the entire set up, even repainted the hideous body. I don't have time now to up load pidtures but I will try tonight. The body is blue and I faded it to grey in the back. Looks pretty sweet.
