Default Team Orion 27T Single Havok Motor for my Stampede

Hey! I was thinking of buying the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCYR6&P=7]Team Orion 27T Single Havok Motor[/link] for my 100% stock E-Stampede.

I was just wondering what are the required things I'd need along with the motor? New Pinion? Aluminum Idler gear?

Thanks,
--Evader

Default RE: Team Orion 27T Single Havok Motor for my Stampede

I am thinking about getting a new motor for my stampede. I am extremely short on $$ so I've narrowed it down to the following:

[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJBX7&P=7]Team Orion 19T Double Method Motor[/link]
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJBY1&P=7]Team Orion 27T Double Method Motor[/link]
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJHH5&P=7]Peak Performance Raven 19T Double Motor[/link]
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMX67&P=ML]Tower Hobbies Speed Stocker 27T Racing Motor[/link]
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHUJ1&P=ML]Venom Fireball 19T Double Motor[/link]

I am still not sure whether to get a 19T or a 27T... I want to do some backyard bashing... I would also like more torque than the stinger motor and maybe a little more speed.

Can someone help me decide?
What else would I need for my 100% stock stampede to run either of these motors? Alum. Idler? Pinion? RPM bearing carriers? Bearings?

Thanks,
--Evader

I have the tower hobbies stocker, and it won't have enough torque for climbing etc. Could i reccomend a single wind motor? They are so much more fun for basihing. Tons of torque and alot of wheelies.

Ok, the tower hobbies speed stocker is out of it? Any recommendations on either the 19t or 27T Method or the Peak Perf. Raven 19t?

thanks,

Yea I have a LHS, I will get my parents to take me there 2morrow to see what kind of motors they have... All together I have probably $20 to spend on a motor.

20 dollars isnt much to work with.Save your money and get a nice pro-tuned 19-Spec motor.they turn around 18,000 RPMS at 5.0v.SO if you have nice packs they will send around 9.00v at full charged.32,000RPMS is ALOT.

Check out Ebay. The old Chameleons (19-turn) were going for cheap, >$12 shipped last time I looked. Of course they were used, but it should take less than $10 to do a rebuild. Otherwise, definatly get a 19 turn motor, it will be faster and thus more fun than a 27-turn.

To run a 19 turn motor, you shouldn't need any tranny upgrades, but you might need a new pinion to gear it down a bit.

Ok thanks for the replies. I'll go to my LHS today and see if they have the reedy quad mag. 19T motor. I'll get is an an early Christmas present..

Thoughts on the Reedy Quad magnetic motor 19T?

Which is best? The [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAVJ3&P=7]Trinity Chameleon 2 Motor[/link]

or the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFBH5&P=ML]Associated Reedy Spec 19T Quad Magnet Motor[/link]

They are both good from what I have heard, but I'd get the Reedy Quag Mag.

By far the reedy. With good bats you can get like 40mph outta it.
