RC10DS buildup and advice
Hi all, I've got a used RC10DS on the way to my house. Needs a bit of repairs, but nearly everything I have laying around and this will put it to good use. What's the generally correct pinion and spur gears I should be using with a stock motor? Also does anyone know any good websites with info about these dinosaurs? And yes I know it won't keep up the AWD currently on the tracks but I'm looking for a fun parking lot racer, so I think this is pretty much ideal for low cost fun. I'll be outfitting it with a new body, will a 200mm body fit these?
Thanks
Thanks

Associated RC10 Dual Sport. Basically an RC10 Aluminum tub 2wd street car. I wouldn't call it a touring car, but a buggy converted to on road use, different suspension. But all the hallmarks of a buggy based car, motor sits outback etc

I won 4 of those on ebay last year, they are pretty cool. Unfortunately I got rid of all 4 but the guy I sold one of them to would probably sell it if your serious.

I'm not so sure how cool they are, I've never owned one, till now. I got it today, filthy, missing alot of parts, alot of loose fasteners. I'm putting in blue ti turnbuckles, new cups, new body posts and scrubbing her down. I still have to rebuild the shocks, replace the dogbones with cvd's and clean the excess oil from the bearings. I'll post the pics of the chassis whe it's done-nobody wants to see my hack job of painting lexan-just not one of my talents.

Chassis is nearing completion! New DS cvd's, body posts, rc10b4 style slipper and top shaft, Futaba s148 with bearing conversion, new ti blue turnbuckles and new cups, new front wheels and foam tires. Cleaned existing bearings, putting transmission and shocks back together tonight!

i was unable to locate what came in the conversion kit.
But I saw this and I am guessing that just by reversing it would work.

I was considering turning it into a RC10GT. What changes do I have to make?
You will need to change the front and rear a-arms, the shock towers and the shocks, dogbones or CVDs, and tires, wheels, and turnbuckles.

RE: RC10DS buildup and advice
Hey folks, Ias you've seen I finished the buildup of the RC10DS. Unfortunately they do not run any 1/10 2wd electrics at the track I live by. So I'm converting it to an RC10T. I'm doing in such a way that I'll be able to convert back and forth in about 20 minutes. Pretty sweet, though for the money I could have just bought a FT RC10T4. Sad but true, shocks are friggin' expensive! The only thing that was expensive about the hole setup is the shocks, CVD's and tires/wheels. If not for these three things it would be really cheap! But then again people buy replacement shocks and wheel/tires all the time. Discgolfer- I may wish to part with my DS parts, I'll keep you posted!

sweet you should have gone with the sportwerks raven shaoks their 20 bucks a pair(compared to asscoiated ones at 30 a pair) and work great (plus have threaded adjusters)
