Default hacker brushless

i currently have in my evader st the reedy neo-sphere combo, and although it's damn fast it's reliability has been an issue. im thinking about getting a hacker C40 8T with their esc, and also thinking about getting some li-po batteries. my question is does anyone know how much speed i could pick up from this swap? is it worth it? and how reliable are the hacker motors?

Dont get the hacker get a lehner. I had both. The lehner 5300 is faster, has better torque, and has better run time. I no longer have the 5300 b/c my good friend needed a motor and I dont need that much speed anymore(I now use the lehner 4200) I also dont have the hacker any more either b/c the other day it died on me. (my brother had been useing it in the sand for a while and didnt clean it out and the sand got in it and sanded the winding and its now a SMOKE BOMB. The lehner is a better motor. Also hacker has had lots of issues with there speed controlers in the past.

you better have a hopped up tranny to try to put that much power in a vader..

let me know if you need some part #s for the tranny upgrade(it only costs about $45.00 total). The lehner has lots of power and WILL tear the tranny apart.

my neo right now is way too powerful for this thing, i plan on getting a metal diff gear. unless you lock it all the way down the diff just slips and creats so much heat it melts the gear. i've done this about 4 times and i have spare gears now until i get the metal one. will the hacker or the lehner create a increase in power enough to possibly break other components? so far with the neo that gear has been the only problem

If you build your diff right you shouldnt have a slipping problem and your diff screw should break before the diff locks all the way????. Pease check your diff and all its parts to make sure its all put together right and that nothing else is damaged. The first weak point of the evader tranny is the idler gear and once you put a metal one in your diff gear is next. I am suprised that your diff is slipping so much.

I have a few brushless motors - If you want just flat out speed go with the hacker. The C40 motor do not have a lot of torque, the Lehner basic series will have more low end torque.

Sorry to stray for a second, but what was the issue with the Neo?

i have it posted elsewhere, but 20 or so runs after putting it in my evader the motor quit. took it to the hobby place and it took them 2 weeks to get reedy to give me another. two runs into that motor it started grinding reallllly bad. motor again. reedy said they've had problems with the magnets falling off the shaft??? i waited for 1 1/2 months for this one. 3 runs so far. only time will tell...it does abot 45 right now....i want it as fast as possible

I do not have a sphere - I do not care for sensored brushless systems myself.

No it wont . Your sphere esc uses the sensers to tell it whats going on and if the senser wire isnt hooked up the esc wont do anything b/c its not getting a signal too. I also have a bk warrior speed control and I have a mgm compro 120 esc and it is far better than the bk. The mgm is as smooth as a sensor system were the bk still has some glitching issues at low throttle. (the fastest motor that I have used is a Feigao 6s VERY FAST)

For the glitching on most of my sensorless stuff I use a UBEC

wow that would allow me to safely run over 12 cell(as safe as it could be I guess) and stop some glitching. Cool thanks

Plane motors do not work as well in truck/cars. They are very low RPM's. Unless you extremely over gear it like I did, you won't go very fast. The one in the pics I blew by over gearing.

so if u have to have the sensor wire, why does it work with brushed motors?

you have to have the sensor wire to run a brushless motor so it knows whats going on. when in brushed mode, you change the way the wires are connected since only 2 are used on brushed. however, should for some reason you decide to try it, make a video so we can see if anything good happens.
