Your welcome.
If you want it fast like the traxxas one you have go with 3900KV if you want it slower and less prone to breaking go with the 3000KV

Here is my EXT2 i just put longer ball studs on the rear carreirs so i could put a nut on the back side.... this is a weak spot on the evader you need longer ball studs so you can put a nut on the back because the stock short ones don't use a nut on the rear so after a while the threads it threads into the hole widens and the ball stud gets lose.

Looks good Lug what turnbuckles you have on there?
Also i am going to do the b4 spur gear soon and i am going to go with the new heavy duty slipper pad associated now makes it has double the serface area of the old B4 slipper pade so it should work like a charm!!

I still have my stock slipper and never had any problems yet.... I put a dab of shimano reel drage grease on my fingers and very lightly i mean hardy any and coated the slipper pad it seemed to work great the shimano drag grease is hi temp and a reels drag works just like a slipper clutch so it worked out great so far.
I use this drag grease on my spinning reel drags and it's awesome...In fact i filled my evaders diff with it and put some CA glue around the cap seem and it worked great also!

Not meaning to but in . . I'm going to second cumquat and lug on the LIPO comments . . . all of the stuff that was going on here earlier this week was probably enough to scare anyone.

It's not all that tough. I'm sure these guys have covered it all.The companieshave to put all of these warnings on these batts. bc they are selling them to the public. And there will always be some joker that charges his LIPO the wrong way and burns his house down.

I went from 7.2 NIMH to 8.4 NIMH to 7.2 LIPO in my EXT.The 7.2 LIPO BLEW AWAY the 8.4 NIMH. I got the GENS ACE 4000MAH hard case . .

I'm running a HobbyWIng 60 ESC and a TACON 3650 motor (32KV) in a pretty heavily modified EXT. . . I may not have a big imagination, but this is as fast as I imagine anyone would need. It's got wheelie power to get over obstacles on the track and more than enough juice to catch cars driving up my street.

Just do a little research and get comfortable with the facts.

NTR

i really am quite scared of lipo actually. thats the main reason why im not going lipo.

thanks NTR. i was thinking of first getting the 6 cell nimh and the Thunder AC6 so that when i felt comfortable enough to get a lipo, i would already have the charger and then all that would be needed is the battery and anything else i would need to do for storage and charging.

That's smart. It's an evolution. If you get it all at once then you don't have the next step to look forward to!

yep! and im confident that i won't do anything stupid with my lipo. i'm a really cautious person when it comes to handling items. even when im refueling the lawn mower i put a rag on the handle and gloves on so that if it spills i won't touch the gas lol.

yeah im thinking of storing mine in a lipo bag inside a metal pot, putting that metal pot inside another metal pot, and then putting 4 bags of play sand on top of the lipo. seems like overkill....

i'm scared of lots of things, but only things that i know for a fact should be feared, like dogs (you get bit by enough, you tend to get the feeling they dont like you). i plugged the wires of one in backwards while it was in my hand, nothing more than a spark. not even a big spark. piezoelectric starters make bigger sparks. all the stories on the internet seemed to imply i should have instantly become a fireball.

i like the way you think time to go shopping! buy the stuff now while its cheap!

i have a few lipo's on a random chair with my charger next to my computer, i think one in my sparrowhawk, probally one or two in my shop... point being my lipo's kinda just float around... i avoid the floor with them cuz i feel like stepping on them while stubling across the room to shut off my alarm clock is a bad way to wake up.... but yeahh if you keep um balanced and they're in good health, they shouldn't just boof on you...

just watch out for the gremlins, gizmo likes to sleep on them but the others like to chew on them and use them as target practice.

well no. but it would be safer to at least put them in a lipo bag or a fireproof box.

it would also be safer to live in a bubble. the simple fact is they are safe enough. it has been said dozens of times, lipo isnt the dangerous battery, nimh is. lipo catches fire, nimh explodes sending shrapnel in every direction.
