you dont add them, but they are already part of the car. They are part of the drivetrain that connects the wheel to the drivetrain. Without it then the drivetrain would spin, but not the tires! heres a visual thingy:\

___.......chassis.........__
[---]__/[----------]\__[---] <wheel
[__]-/--[_______]-\-.[__]
front of car
The CVD is the solid black line leading from the tire to
the chassis: __
[---]__ <CVD

Pretty good with your symbols there. I have a Pede, and I don't see anything that looks like the CVDs in the link. The parts that come from the transmission to the wheels are plastic, they are thick. Parts list tells me they are "half shafts." I'm confused.

ahhh... well I don't have a stampede, but sounds like if you do some hard bashing (jumping high and crap) then you might consider getting it, but you should probably ask someone with a pede. I think there's an official pede thread somewhere, you might have to dig it up Yeah thanks, I'm good with teh symbolz and good luck with those CVD[8D]

...and less rotating mass should equal faster response, I believe. Should also be easier on the tranny, I suppose.

cvds transfer power better than universals or dogbones. you get better response, less binding, less play and they usually weigh less.

I have heard that with modified motors, the stock plastic drive shafts can break.
Also, read the "tech notes" in the Tower Hobby listing. It gives a brief description of the part.

I run a Pede with a Neo in it, the drive shafts have helf up fine. Pedes have such long wheel travel that CVD aren't a good idea. The telescoping shafts are the ticket. Stick with stock.

Listen to Speedmunky. You don't want to use CVD's on the Pede. You also lose some travel of your suspension when you use CVD's. The plastic part of the axle is all that will break with the stock setup. You can use these if you want: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJG04&P=7 They will break too, but not as often. It's a cheaper way to go and you don't lose any travel.
