What mods have you done to your rusty?

My Rusty handles like a brick.
My Rusty handles like a brick.
I lowered it about 1/2 inch off the ground and it still handles like a brick.

RE: !!!RUSTLER OWNERS WANTED!!!
I'm a rustler owner and new to the hobby. I hadn't seen that thread in the forum; then again i wasn't looking for it either. I'll check it out.
I've had mine for about 2 weeks and haven't run it too much. It's bone stock, but I just ordered a set of P/L Dirt Hawgs and am looking into RPM's carriers and bearings.
Any good links out there?

The RPM carriers can bearings you mentioned are a great upgrade. The RPM wide front bumper is a necessity (if you drive anything like I do, you'll need it ) I'll put some links to good upgrades below:
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNY89&P=Z]front bearing carriers[/link]
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNY90&P=M]rear bearing carriers[/link]
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEV91&P=M]wide front bumper[/link]
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD122&P=M]bearings compatible with carriers[/link] You'll need 8, the link is a pack of 10.

Gunnut,
I've seen people saying the the Rustler and Stampede can be interchanged. I know that the chassis are different. What would be needed to raise a Rustler; shocks?, A-arms? Do you know?

I'd go [link=http://monster.traxxas.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=40]here[/link] if you want to talk to rusty owners.

adjust the shock positions to get more ride height. having the bottom of the shock mounted on the innermost hole should raise it up. If the suspension seems to "sag" when you set it on the ground, clip some spring preload spacers onto the shock, right above the spring. preload spacers are black(plastic) "C-shaped" clips that have a little tab on them-- there are different thicknesses to choose from. there should be a bag with two sheets of them that came with your rustler. Those are the easiest ways to raise it and it doesn't cost you anything.
Taller tires may give you more ground clearance... but then you may need to adjust your gearing to keep from burning the motor/esc. adjusting gearing isn't really a big deal-- a pinion gear costs around $3.00 and they're easy to access on the truck.
