Heres a little something i'm working on,bringing back and old car i had sitting around for years, i'm using an old ultima chasis and then put on some old rear optima rear shocks and icarus front shocks both are old kyosho cars, then full bearings, and hpi chrome rims, and a ford truck body, and i'm just finishing cleaning it all up and replacing some of the gears and checking everything over along with rebuild of the old leaky shocks. heres some pictures as of now.

buying stuff[sm=thumbdown.gif]
We need more people that make custom stuff around here. Personally, i have more pride in my car that is good because of homemade parts over something that i killed my wallet for. I've probably saved 100 bucks by making stuff. You just saved like 10 because that's how much swaybar kits usually go for.
Anyway, i usually don't like the older stuff, but that's perrrty nice. I don't like how the body is at a huge angle though. I think it makes it look more...."toyish", but if it gets some good paint i bet it'll be okay.

I'm with you. Half of the fun of these (for me) is tinkering, modifying and fabricating.

RE: project :old parts
heres a shot of the front sway bar, tested a few different hand made front bars and postion of the links took lots of bench hours, but this set up drives better then i ever expected very tight handling, used some music wire and collars and ball links and threaded rod cut to size.
