What would you consider "cheap" for a brushless system, the cheapest your gonna get is a novak.

Since it would be going in a rustler just go with the Reedy Quad Mag 19t, should be fine for your application.

That's pretty much the cheapest you're gonna be able to get a complete (motor AND ESC) brushless setup unless you get lucky on ebay or the marketplace (I don't think there are any in the marketplace, I looked for brushless stuff the other day and don't recall seeing any SS5800's).

Personally I would suggest saving up and getting a good ESC (novak GTB or LRP sphere) that way you have a bigger selection of motors that you can use.

As for the 3 star, I have it in my B4, should be fine for your rustler (just don't get your expectations up speed wise, it's not exactly going to be blistering fast in a rustler). Problem is, you're still goign to need a $160+ ESC to run it on.

I did the same with my sphere, regular price was $180, got it for $155 with the $25 off deal.

They probably wont be doing that again for a while though. Generally when they have the sells you only get $5-10 off a $150 order, usually you won't be able to get $25 off unless you have like a $250 or $300 order.
