Default old novak t4 esc

I am new to electric and just got an associated t3 truck with a novak t4 speed control on it. there are what looks like a screw head in 2 different holes one is labeled neutral and the other says speed. I was wondering what they did. Will the truck go faster if I turn the speed screw up? I know the speed is also limited by motor and gearing but what the hell does the screw do?

Default RE: old novak t4 esc

The neutral one is for setting the speed control's neutral setting and the speed setting is just to set the ESC's HIGH speed setting. I actually used to have a couple T-4's way back when so here is how you set it:

Turn your radio on and then turn on the ESC

Adjust the neutral "screw" so the motor does not turn and the red LED should be lit

Next apply full throttle on your transmitter and adjust the Speed Screw to achieve full speed and once full speed is achieved the red LED will light back up.

So the LED should be lit while your in neutral and when you apply the throttle it should go out until full throttle is achieved and then should come back on.
