motor question
well im thinking about getting another neo motor this one for my buggy. I was looking at the 4 star but I think that is for a touring car. my question is would the 4 star be faster than the 2 star in my xxx-4? I was thinking that the 4 star might work because my buggy is based off of the xxx-s. also is reedy coming out with a new brushless motor that should be comparable with the novak 4.5?

RE: motor question
The 4-star will be faster than the 2. Should have plenty of torque too. The 4-star is the latest, in fact, I don't think it's available yet. Being that the Sphere has a 5.5 motor limit, they won't be bringing out a 4.5. The 4-star (7T) on 7 cells will likely outperform the GTB 4.5. GTB's not rated for 7 cells.

RE: motor question
It seems most motors are advertising that they are designed for touring cars. On Towerhobbies I did see a single one for Buggies. Some were on-road/off-road. But then there are no standards for listing Torque, RPMs, etc.

RE: motor question
I don't think the neo 4 stars on 7 cells can match or beat the 4.5R on 6 cells.
I think 4 stars on 6 cells would equal around the 6.5R on 6 cells.
On 7 cells the 4 stars should be around equal to the 5.5R on 6 cells.
But I think the 4.5R has them all beat.
Anyone has actual hard evidence to compare all those motors?

RE: motor question
Yes, I've read that thread but it doesn't really offer clear conclusions. What I mostly got from this thread is that he was frustrated by the glitching on the Novak.
Even though he probably tried his best to stay objective, Speedmunkey admits that he "wanted the LRP to win". He also said had bad experience with Novak in the old days, etc... Also, he only got to try tweak and tinker with the GTB for a day or so while he owned the LRP for 3 months at the time of test.
Finally in that review he's trying out the 5.5R, I'd expect the 4.5R to be quite a different story.

RE: motor question
well im happy with my neo and I have never had any glitching and thats a big plus for me. The only way I would get novak is if I can find a good deal somewhere. Im not dogging on novak, I just like the neo and its great for my needs.
