Default electric help

i need alittle electric help.
im a nitro guy and my friend gave me some electronics to put in an old radio shack truck. its not fancy stuff, and it fits well in the truck. the problem is that it will work one second and the next nothing at all happens. im alittle confused about why its not goin the whole time. any helo would be appreciated.thank you

I think I can speak for everyone who reads this. We need more information. What truck, what electronics, what radio, what happens when it doesn't work, just stops? More info, please.

its the all the stock electrics from a duratrax evader st.
i hit the throttle alittle and then let go.
i hit it again and nothing happens

When you say nothing happens do you mean it won't turn the wheels either? Is it totally dead?

yea its totaly deads the motor doesnt even try to turn.

Try to give a lil shove to the truck when you hit the throttle.
If it works, you have yourself a hung brush.
Clean the motor and the brushes. You may need to change the brushes depending on their condition.

When you tap the motor does it go then? Possibly the brushes are hanging up. Does the steering servo still work?

yea when i push it it'll work.
so what that mean?

and yes, the steering still works

Cutting the com if it needs it, and replacing the brushes. Check the comm if it looks burnt see if a hobby shop or friend will cut it for you.
