Default Need help with E-Maxx please

I bought an E-Maxx new back in December 05. Its been alot of fun and so far ive only had some minor issues like drivetrain failures, no big deal. However, a week or so ago, when i would drive the truck i could be holding the throttle down and it would accelerate then cut out for a sec. then accelerate cut out for a sec. and so on. So me being a noob i had no idea. I thought maybe i had a bad connection at the reciever or something but the steering and shifting were fine. Long story a little shorter, i bought a new EVX thinking i burned it up using 7 cell packs since it was new. Well, get everything together, take it outside and guess what? Same problem. Is my esc going out on thermal or what? I took some temps on the esc and they were around 100-110 on the heat sink. I dont think i have any drivetrain restrictions. Maybe my stock motors are worn out? My truck is stock save for a spool in the rear diff, 40 series tires, and an upgraded steering servo. Sorry for the long post guys. I didnt even want to have to ask but, now it has costed me over 100 buck with no fix so.... Any thoughts?????

I replaced the esc with a new EVX just like the one that came out of it.

about how much have you run the motors? I've had my emaxx since summer 05' and the stock motors are fine. check, check, and double check all the motor and battery connections. Also try contacting novak or traxxas about the problem.

My bet is that the combination of larger tires and 14 cells (without gearing down) is straining the evx . If it's geared down like it should then I have no other ideas as the temp seems just fine.

Just an idea here, but check your antenna wire. make sure there aren't any small cuts in it.
Only other thing I can think of is make sure your throttle trim is centered and run setup again on the ESC.

How fast does it come back on? If it's the thermal it should be at least 5 seconds. If it's a lot shorter time than that it may be a radio problem.

Possibly you blew an idler or diff gear (or lost a few teeth)... Also, check the spur gear for missing or worn out teeth... I would check all these other options first, as it is a big pain to open up the diffs and the tranny...
