what is the best motor to use on an Evader ST elect.
NO BRUSHLESS Just wondering if anyone knows the best motor to use on the Evader elect without having to change the stock esc, and any other suggestions in changing the esc and spur and then which motor? I heard a stock 27T is faster than the 20T photon speed motor that comes with the truck stock.. SO would i be better off to use a 27T motor and leave the esc or go down to a lower turn motor and change the esc??? Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks Brian

Personally I like the Orion Method 21 X 2 motors. I've had very good luck with them and they are faster and have more torque than the havock 15t motor that comes on the pro version. A lot of people like the reedy quad mag but it's not cheap.

If you don't have the pro version then you can't handle the quad mag 19t. You will smoke the esc eventually. If you have the standard evader then any motor will be better than the photon speed.
Raz said he likes the orion 21x2 so that would be a good choice. I have a p2k2 that I like a lot (27t). My bro has a monster horsepower and I think it is probably a little faster than mine (27t). We also have a green machine that seems about the same very good motor too (27t). Another guy (tamiyacrawler) on this board has a speed stocker 27t made by tower hobbies that only costs 15 bucks and he says it is an unreal motor for just a 27t. So, there are some good choices. Any will be way better than what you have.
If you have the pro get the quad mag 19t.

Ya, i have the speed stocker and love it. Snow runs, water, 50+runs, no comm cut and it just keeps chugging and giving me wheelies. And it's faster than my 19t's. I wonder how it would do on 7 cells though?

Only one way to find out!
The way you talk about this thing I want to get me one on my next order just to see if it's true. My p2k2 is a great motor but I am not pulling wheelies. My suspension is pretty soft though.

If you do and it's not as expected you might have gotten the thing it's supposed to be. I'm not sure if mine is a mutant motor somehow, but i can hang with t-maxxes on the straights for quite a while.

For fifteen bucks it's not like I could be upset. It's always good to have a cheap motor for playing in mud and water. I did read somewhere else a few months back that someone else had one and liked it.
Can't wait to see your monstervader! When will it be unveiled?

When u play around in mud and water do u have to cover the esc with something? I was afraid to run mine on the wet pavement the other day course i just go this evader and dont want to tear it up already. thanks Brian

Yes, you can seal it with silicone or alternatively put in a small container. You can risk it and use a balloon, but you ma overhaet or melt the balloon to it. I just ran mine in a foot of snow today.

Nope, the tower hobbie motor is a 27t. If anything, you could up the gearing to 20/88. Stock is 18/88. I'm running 16/90 and the electronics run cool, so i think i'll do some speed runs with 18-22/90[>:]

I just put on my dirt hawg rear tires to see how the method 21 X 2 motor runs on pavement and man I get major wheelies! I've only ran it in the sand so far and this motor rocks! I'm going to have to make a wheelie bar for road use (lol). Even the 15t havok motor didn't do wheelies.

RE: what is the best motor to use on an Evader ST elect.
I'm doing some speed runs with my speed stocker tomorrow. I don't have a radar or gps. Too bad. The only way to tell is by racing the neighbors t-maxx, but with 16/90 i'm for sure beating it, so i'll bump it up to 18/90 and if i get enough daylight, i'll run with 22/90 with the body off to keep it cool. I'm hoping i can break 35which i bet i will. I've also ran 14.4v through that motor and it's still running. And i severely overheated it before to the point where when touched i instantly had paain and if held for 3+ seconds i would've been burned. I can always count on it, and if i do burn it up, i can always scratch up 15 bucks.
