Default Best Comm lathe for around £120

Hi all!

I have been offered a new comm lathe for my birthday and just need to pick which one (NEW)

I have been looking at the Hudy but they only seem to have Diamond tips and I only want a carbide one.

Any suggestions gratefully recieved on the best one stocked in the UK?

Cheers

Les

Hi,
Well the Hudy is the best one to have and the one I have and use. You will also need a MRT variable resistor to control the speed of the motor. You may not need one if you have a battery charger that will run in motor's.
Much more racing have a good lathe available in the UK

This is a 3 racing one from RC Direct im not sure if you will need tip for this one

http://www.rc-direct.co.uk/catalogue...644cbbe33f29c8

This is the hudy one from Microtech Racing but you will also need the cutting tip

Im trying to find the Muchmore racing lathe but cant find any info on it. But if you call Microtech they are muchmore dealers and they will be able to tell you more.

Great thanks!

I do like the look of the Hudy I must admit but cant stretch to the Diamond bit that they say is required.

Surely Can I not just put a standard Carbide tip on from another manufacturer like 3 Racing?

I would have thought so, it comes with shims and the tool housing is large.

"Well the Hudy is the best one to have"

That's an opinion, and I happen to disagree with it.

The best lathe I've seen and used happens to be the one I own. The Integy Super Auto lathe is idiot proof, you simply can't screw up a cut with it unless you try. Comes with a carbide bit and it lasts forever.. Monet WELL spent, and probably cheaper than that Hudy..
