DAmnit, its called looking on tower yourself... its about 100 for the car, which comes with esc and motor, its a kit, so you need some cheap radio gear then, ebay for 30 bucks.

Well of course Keith's is nice, but stock it isn't a very good performer compared to other buggies.

It wasn't always like that. I ran it stock for over a year before putting the Hacker C40-6T motor and BK-Warrior 9918 Brushless ESC in it. The only hop-up I had on it was bearings before then. Loads of fun.

Thanks -
It shows that even the cheap RC's have a lot of potential for those on a budget and can modify or upgrade things as their budget allows them.

As for speed - I have my own radar gun and I clocked it at 47MPh at 3/4 throttle. If I try to go over 50 I wreck the thing. It was not made for those speeds.

Hey guys , anyway I was just wondering about finding a buggy for around $100-#140 . Anything out there that is decent ? [&:] Needs to be at least almost RTR .
the traxxas bandit is good i had one when i first got into r/c, the sock towers are going to break if they are anyhting like what they were when i had them, but simply get a piece of carbon fiber, graphite, or strong plastic and fabricate a piece to make a shock tower brace get small machine screws identical to the one that connect the top of the shock to the tower and mount the bracxe to the rear of the tower i did this and never had a problem and I BASHED THE MESS outta the bandit, if you want more speed you're gonna need a better motor and speed control than whats stock a hop up to getcha insane speed and power heres the link for the motor and speed control, i'm selecting brushless cause hardly any mantenence is needed and cause its offroad that makes a diffence

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXMAC8&P=ML
and yes i'm aware ofthe price, add that expese to the bandit purchase, now you see why many go nitro or get a more elaborate buggy to stat with, as good as traxxas is you get what you pay for with the bandit
