yep,the layout is what made me first take notice too.

i noticed in one of the mags recently, tamiya has an ad that shows the DI,durga and 501 side by side by side, and says something like "tamiya has all 3 covered:beginner, intermediate, and advanced" (paraphrased,i don't have it in front of me)...i kinda like that ad =)

well, gotta get ready for work, see ya.

Well, if you do plan on buying a DF-03, look into the DF-03MS kit, it comes with all the bells and whistles that should've came with the car in the first place...

With most of the tamiya hop ups and the 3racing graphite conversion, this buggy is truely race worthy IMO.

my buddy got some five star stuff today for the df 03 and its all very nice, years back we had some ta 04 parts from them that were much rougher, they seem to have come quite a ways, the aluminum knuckles were near sqaure qaulity which simply wasn't true in the past, he got everything champ had under df 03, hinge brace, front tower, rear tower, prop shaft, steering arm, front knuckles and rear hubs, and hexes I think thats all lol, he jumped on that roca sale($112-114 df 03s)so he can have all three versions nib but now he has got all these extra option parts hes going to have to pick one and build a queen as he allready has a built with sqaure parts df 03 basher.

Jasons store on ebay has some but we mainly get our exotic parts from champ rc in japan as its alot cheaper, the shipping is a little high but the prices are much better than any us supplier, if you need any spairs order them at the same time as they are tamiya -17 to 19% which is usually about half price compaired to tower or tamiya usa. $175 or so on the df03ms also, but kits are usually about the same by the time you ship them but tower had the dt02ms so jacked up it was one you would have benefited from shipping around the globe. These parts are more expensive than the gpm and 3racing stuff we are all used to but much nicer fit and finish coming from japan as opposed to china.

do a df 03 search under toys and hobbies on ebay, anything tobee craft racing, square, five stars, kawada and xenon(nice graphite conversion kit) makes for the df 03 champ can get

The Df-03 is a great car to race with if you have hopped up the shocks and you need a slipper. Most people also get different tires, but depending on the dirt, the stock tires are surprisingly good. They are hard however and softer tires with better foams help soak up larger jumps. When I first brought this car to the track, everyone with their Losi's and Kyosho's flocked around me to see what this car was. There were amazed at the balance the car has. They helped me refine the suspension and then the car was super competitive. It's downfalls are lack of air flow to the electronics, and you do need a few hop-ups to be competitive at most tracks. I love racing my Dark Impact.

i once intend to get me a df03 cos its shaft driven but went with a db01 instead, basically because alot of people says that the plastic quality of the df03 is not that great

It bends very easily, but has yet to warp or break for me. and the only thing that might need to be replaced plastic wise for racing are the shock towers. You can pick up graphite ones for like $12-$15

That KM-chassis DF-03 looks trick! I'm currently working on my DF-03MS with the 3Racing chassis. To my surprise, the 3Racing products are HIGH QUALITY. I had to keep reminding myself that this product came from Hong Kong and not Japan while I was looking at it...

Tower Hobbies has one of the highest prices for this car, for all your DF-03MS kit and accessories, I recommend Stellamodels and RC Mart. Also, RC-Mall has all the GPM accessories you can ever need, and RC-Mall has cheaper prices on GPM goods then RCmart. Links provided below for all of you DF-03 fans:

HIGHLY RECOMMEND STELLA, she is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST in shipping. I live in California. Ordered my stuff on Monday, got it on Thursday! Holy fast-shipping Batman! I love this lady!

Has more variety of DF-03 parts then anyone else on the net. RCmart is pretty famous for carrying Yeah Racing, GPM, TopCad, and 3Racing stuff for DF-03 and other Tamiyas. I highly recommend 3Racing goodies, they are high quality...

Possible GPM storefront? GPM's customer service was very friendly. Have been in email contact with Queenie Tsang of GPM. She is fluent in English and very helpful. But here is a place to buy it online with Paypal:

How did you get this photo frugalman? I thought Jimmy hasn't posted anything about his "Ultimate Hawk" project yet! Can you link me to an article if he has it up?

Regarding your TEU-101bk, not sure. I don't have much experience with that ESC... Have you tried to recalibrate it with the transmitter (as if you were turning it on for the first time)?

Will do, I'm waiting for my parts from the USPS, seems like they have attempted "delivery" and left the notice buried deep in my mailbox Will have to pick up these last few parts, one of which is the most critical, GPM front lower gear box, which should make my front end nearly bullet proof.

The rear end is done, I bought both the aluminum shock tower and the carbon fiber one, chose to use the carbon fiber one for now, until it breaks (pray that it doesn't ), then switch to aluminum if it does...

GPM's front lower gear box is THE most critical item IMO.

A little question, does anyone here know where to get Five Star 7051 - Front and Rear Aluminum Brace? The only store I found was an ebay page in Spain, but for the life of me, I can't read Spanish!

I know that they sell carbon fiber front brace, but an aluminum would make it truly bullet-proof. This Five Stars parts comes with both the front and rear:

I already have 3Racing rear brace, but it's kinda weird how 3Racing never made the fronts. I wouldn't mind buying this set for the fronts...

Also, how are you guys protecting your chassis? Are you guys using any chassis tape at all? I'm thinking about buying an undertray for a similar car and just trim it to fit, just can't figure out which car the chassis most closely resembles...
