also thats a good thing about nitros: u can get them wet unlike with electrics and also depending on which electric motor u use u have to adjust the slipper for different speeds and so on.

enough already with the pro's and con's!

were talking about power here knobby!
the slipper clutch has jack to do with speed . all it does is save the gears in your trannie from stripping from to much power all at one time . it will not affect your top end at all . as for toruqe my brushless will push my 4 year son on his big wheel up the drive way . that is pushing something like 8 times the weight of the car it self.

Does anyone remember the article in RC car action where they took I think a electric TC4 and a nitro TC4 IIRC and put about $400 into the performance mods for it. In the end the electric was faster [sm=idea.gif]

How about sound? With Nitro you can hear your R/C moving. Electric can get boring after a while without any sound.

This is coming from someone that owns a Nitro MT and an Electric On-Road.

I race both.. electric and nitro, offroad and onroad.. .its all personal preference... if you like nitro stick to nitro... it doesnt matter...

why do rock crawlers use electric motors? MORE TORQUE...

The answer is no if by power you mean torque. Electric motors have a torque efficiency of 100%. That means they make the same torque at 2000 rpms as they do at 100,4000,5000 rpms. Also electric motors "step-change torque response capability"(yes, thats a real term) is almost instant in comparison to Gas,nitro or diesel engines. That means they respond quicker to outside forces. IC engines fail in comparison in both fields.

I read somewhere that if you were to change a IC engine to an electrical motor on a machine like a mill, you can use an electrical motor of about 50% less HP rating because of the mechanical efficiency.

Also...I apoligize for calling this a useless thread, I misread some of the posts. This thread could be one of the better ones if it stays on topic.

LoL...i son't like nitro for the one reason...the torque sucks. Ya, maybe a perfectly tuned revo 2.5r or 3.3 will wheelie, but you can make a friggin tamiya silver can pull wheelies. I once tug-o-wared a t-maxx with a twin detonator with stock tamiya cans and i woulda killed it if i had bigger tires to get more power to the ground.

Well, from reading this thread i've learned nothing apart from the fact that with 240 posts wassupgeo has clearly learned nothing.

FOR GOD'S SAKE EVERYONES, STAY ON THE F@#KING TOPIC. STOP SAYING THIS CRAP THAT THEY TOOK A NITRO AND ELECTRIC, MODDED IT ALL UP AND THE ELECTRIC WAS FASTER. ITS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS THREAD.

SO IF YOUR GONNA MAKE A COMMENT ABOUT SPEED THEN GO HOME AND LEAVE THIS THREAD!

anyways Roscco you little frog man, you have only 48 posts! and you joined before i did! so you've done nothing!

and wot about this torque sucks? my t-maxx could pull wheelies all day long and be fine.

also rock crawler use electric because they need to be light so that they can climb walls and stuff while a nitro engine is too heavy. i race both ways so i have nitro and electric.

That's the stupidest thing i've ever heard..."engine is too heavy"...lol

Ya, find a average nitro engine that weighs more than 2 55t's...

And tha torque does suck. I guarantee you my evader will out-wheelie the t-maxx, i guarantee you my twin detonator will, etc.

dude,

u have to consider the weight of the engine, the weight of the fuel.

chill dude when you ask questions people answer them calm down . most of us are at home when we post hear.

rockcrawling has nothing to do with this thread anyways so who brought it up?

get back to the topic

by the way, u get light servos, the motor isnt that heavy and i know it isnt, and a battery pack doesnt vibrate or move like an engine does
