More newbee questions...
Hey I am in the process of setting up an electric rustler and I had some questions....
1. Can anyone tell me how long electric (brushless Novak 5800) motors will last? I have some limited experience with nitro and I know those motors last from 5-15 gallons before they have to be rebuilt or replaced....as a casual non-racer what kind of life expectancy would I expect from the Novak??
2. How close can I get to the speed of brushless in a brushed motor? And what brushed motor will come close??
3. What is the best pinion/spur ratio for the E Rusty? I am looking for top speed as most of my driving will be on wide open packed dirt.
4. Is the Novak 5800 the best motor or is there something faster/better/longer lasting for my Rusty?
5. I also have an associated TC3 that I just bought and was wondering about the fastest top speed pinion/spur gear ratio. It also has the Novak 5800.
Thanks to all who reply

stumpjumper,
3. i think 1:4.5 to 1:6.4 of gearratio is a good choise.
4. ive found a MUCH better moter than the novak 5800: he's simular to this motor but haves a little more kv (5800<->6366) and a lot more of watts(196<->+500(with my cells he have 840WATTS!)) His name is [link=http://shop.modellbau-klimm.de/product_info.php?cPath=6_21_67_71&products_id=229]Cyclon Car 7500[/link] and the esc: [link=http://shop.modellbau-klimm.de/product_info.php?cPath=6_21_68_79&products_id=268]Car Driver[/link]
Good luck

RE: More newbee questions...
All brushless motors last over 15000 hours I was told.
If money is no limit, and you are after speed, get a Sphere ESC and Neo 3 or 4 star motor. If you race you need a sensored motor, and motor from Novak or LRP.
