a tip (since your all so into action shots and stuff) ... if your gonna use the ramp, dont let us see the ramp, or at least dont let us see it clearly... imagine if you are in a car, you would see the ramp while your going towards it, but once your airborne, the only way you would see the ramp is with the rearview mirrors... you want this to be about the car that jumped off the ramp, not the ramp which a car just jumped off

Ha, I don't have a ramp myself, so you probably won't see me have pics w/ ramp anytime soon...
But good point, though, I agree w/ you!!

Nice metallic blue Hornet LB. I was going to paint my Hornet the same color (I had that color spray can laying around) but I thought I will go with the retro black at first.
Like so many of you the Hornet is my first RC. I remembered saving up two years worth of "new year" money for it and the JR Propo controller !! It was such a huge box back then (I was like 12) I was both proud when I brought it back home from the store and afraid at the same time some other big kids might take it away from me, HAHA LOL
The Re-release was just exactly how I remembered it! This time around I know which parts might break-off first and where to add extra washers [;-)]
I also started with all ball bearings in the gearbox, the same last upgrade on my original Hornet before I had to leave it when I moved to the U.S.
One problem I am still unable to resolve 20 years later, however. The battery slider door keeps falling off.
So far, I have seen/heard other people do the following, any other ideas?
* Use a rubber band and wrap around the side cages
* Install a metal slider behind the battery door
* Use silicon seal to increase the slider door friction
TIA

RE: Hornet in the house... :) (not mine..)
Need a little help! [&:] I am a little lost ! [:@]
I tried to install the Orion Method R 21T on the Hornet today. The motor has two sets of mounting holes, why? They all don't fit the Tamiya motor screw very well. [:'(]
Maybe the 4 holes are for fitting different sizes of Pinions? The Hornet came with a 32 Pitch 18T Pinion. Maybe it would fit a 20T? The last time I played with the Pinions on the Hornet was a long long time ago so I was found and now am lost!!!

It shouldn't be.. Usually, the motor mounting holes should be the same for all motors.. and pinion adjustment is usually done via the different holes on the motor mount..
In Hornet's case, there's only 1 set of holes so only 1 choice for pinion..
You might want to try the screws on the motor before mounting it to see if the screws will actually go on the motor... maybe the thread is not in good condition?! Who knows..

You have to use 2 holes directly across from each other, if you accidently do it on the other hole, then the screws will not go in.

Thanks all. It seems the magnet on the Orion Method R is longer, and the screws are too long. I will try to cut down the screws.
It does appear to use the cross pattern of holes, but it doesn't make sense to me that there are two sets of holes just so the motor can be rotated slightly? I guess I will stay with 18T then.
