Default Feigo motors.

I want to go sensorless with my rusty. I have all the nessessary hop-ups including-aluminum idler/ 5x11 bearings and carriers/ mip cvd's and some custom stuff. Anyways I want a budget feigao system with a esc. for under 200 at the most. I want the best feigao motor for a heavy rustler and a budget esc that can easily handle the power coming from a 7-cell battery.

Tell me if this is possible and what to get.

P.S. I'm sorry for the typo in the title I know its spelled feigao.

That would work pretty good, feigao is one of the lower class brands as far as sensorless performance is concerned, however it should still make a great improvement. Mtronik's makes pretty good ESC's.

I wish there was a thread where you could go and look up the brushless motors and combos by all the different manufactures with links to each for info and prices. Then people could respond to motor a b or c as needed...just a thought

Thanks

Inverted,

whats up lately? its like if its not a $800 combo, then its just isnt any good....
i would put my evo with its 250 dollar mamba up againest any system out there in a stadium truck on same voltage. or i would do the same with my offroad t4.....and with a good driver, the 800 dollar system isnt going to be a dime better. not everyone wants to pay that much for a insignificant increase in performance...

original poster,
a feigao is a nice motor and is a really nice motor for the price. it has real good power and will be plenty for a rusty. now the 380 size motors dont pack the power that the 540 size do. they spin up faster though. you will prolly be pushed to get it for under 200. last time i looked, the 380's were 75-85 bucks and i thought the mgm controllers were atleast 135-140.

Thats what I thought but on Starluck It recommends that combo and the motor is 66 bucks and the controller is $102.

What motor/Esc combo would you recommend? I would like it to be under 200 or I will just buy a mamba off starluck for $212.00

Didn't you have a fiegao in your evo Sleepy? If so what was that esc/motor combo.

i had the mgm80 and the feigao 6s in the evo and that thing was mean. i didnt realize starluck had those prices. i had considered picking up a 380 6t to see if i could put down some wicked acceleration.

Im not saying it if its not expensive its not any good, im just saying that the feigao is in a lower class performance wise compared to Hackers, Mega's, RCer's, lehners, and Plettenberg's. Its still a good motor, but even you know that a lehner is a better motor. Also, please dont take things I say at 2 AM seriously lol, I tend to ramble and say things I dont always mean.

Yeah we all know -inverted- sometimes things in our real lives are easy to take out on people in here instead of the real world.

Anyway what do you think of that setup?

P.S. I want wheelies for under200 is possible so what would be best for that?

One more thing is I know the feigao is lower in performance. But you have to remember that its going in a rusty.

It would work fine, just make sure your using top of the line batteries or else it will cog.

Well wheelies and like 45 would work! but I don't like novak for starters and its more expensive.

Also inverted I'm using a SXS 1500 sanyo pack for a short period before I get some GP4300s.

Another Idea. what if I got a feigao 540 6s from Rc-Monster.com and a warrior 7720. That setup should be better right and it only costs like 25 bucks more.

I've got the Warrior 7720 and Fegaio 380C 7T in my Stampede. Works very well. I run it on gp3300s or cheap 3000s and have no problems with cogging.

I'd seriously consider the Mamba Max. 5700 should be more than enough for most applications.

Sorry to but in:

I've just recieved a feigao 540 8xl and a quark 125 monster pro for an E-Maxx and was told that I need a BEC even though the esc has one built in. Mike at rc-monster told me that the esc is only rated for 10 cells--- here's the spec's.

â–ºCells : Ni_Cd 5~18 cell
Lithium 2~6 cell
►Continuous : 125A ( @Full throttle, 25°C)
â–ºSurge : 180A/design spec 300A(@10 secs)
â–ºSwitching Rate : 38KHz
►Resistance : 0.00036Ω+ 0.00036Ω
â–ºBrake : Realistic ABS( Proportional )
â–ºLow Voltage Cut-Off : Automatic
►High temperature Cut-Off : about 110~120°C
â–ºReversible : Completely Yes (Without change any wire)
â–ºTiming Adjust : Automatic
â–ºSafety : Full safety Mode with Master Recognition
Competition Mode with delayed Master Recognition
(Programmable with throttle position whenever power on)
â–ºProgram : On board Program button and colorful 4 LED
â–ºBEC : 5.6V/5A (input : 8.4V, peak 8A)
â–ºSize : 70 X 34 X 19 mm (Without wire)
â–ºWeight : 78gram (Without wire)

Why would I need one, and what would happen if I tried to run it without one?

If it has one just plug it into the rx and it should run. But I have run a rx pack with my esc witch has a bec and it doesn't do much to aid and doesn't effect it at all.

Yeah, everything gets hot. Sometimes too hot. It usually doesn't have problems if I run on a large track or wide open area, but on a tight track or small area, it'll occasionally shut down. I'm going to mount a fan on the esc to see if that'll help.

As far as gearing, right now I'm running 18/87.

I just had to slow down since I wanted a BL system like yesterday (figuratively speaking). I figured it out once I sat back and thought about it. For the female's I clamped them vertically, melted some solder down in the dimple, stuck the point of the iron down there, and once melted I hurried up and stuck in the wire before it cooled--- the male's were just as easy.

I did order a ubec and I also remembered that I had a 4-cell AA battery case that came with a Futaba MS radio--- doesn't matter cause I have to wait for the 5mm bore pinion.

Other than that all I need is one more male dean's--- besides the tranny upgrades.

If I was you, I would just get another Deans plug and not replace the tranny upgrades until you actually need them. I mean, I would strip the stock stuff before I put better stuff in there. At least that way you can go ahead and run the new motor because I'm sure the anticipation is killin ya.

Yeah, that is what I was going to do as far as the tranny goes, I was just speaking futuristically.
