Not very fast. I have heard estimates from 15 MPH to guys claiming 40MPH. My guess would be a lot closer to 15. I have a TL-01B with an Tamiya TZ motor, uprated ESC, 3000mA/h battery and various other mods.

Running as it is with an 21T primary and over sized wheels it is geared for just over 60Kph (37Mph).

Does it ever reach that? In all probabillity not!! In my opinion, I would say closer to 30Mph

People are funny in a way, cause hes talkin like hes walking into radioshack, and asking how fast the cars are!...LOL! not dissin man so dont take it ina bad way!, cause tamiya cars are good, but jus the stock motor and all the electronics are junk and wont make it go that fast!, i got a 45-50mph duratrax evader st and hes got a 50 mph ta05, but these cars are not stock!, there heavyily modified with brushless motors and esc's and all that!, what tamiya car/truck were you looking for?, will help you out!, Stock they say 15mph or so, and one u first get it u'll be thinkin Whooooooa thats fast and you'll probealey be happy with it for a while!, but when you get tired of it, get a new motor!, its that simple (a faster one of course) but u may need a new esc 2 handle thoes high powered motors, duratrax's evader gos 22mph on 6 cells and the traxxas rustler stampede break 20-25mph and the RC10 t4 and losi xxx-t both do around 25 mph stock!, but jus cause its the slower then stock doesnt mean that its not good!, and can never be fast!, But the more we learn about what you want the more we can help!

Expect 12-17mph depending on the chassis. Not the fastest, but normally the price isn't bad either!

Plus, you can always toss a nicer motor/esc in there and get up to speed.

cool, i know it comes off as a noob question, but im primarily into nitro, and i dont really know much about electric, i just stumbled across a tamiya drift kit on tower for only $134, and i was just curious as to what kind of speed i would get out of it

Tamiya drift kit?

Drifters arent meant or built for speed so dont expect much of it

I work in a Tamiya store and I get sick of hearing that question. Now I just answer 'faster than yo mamma'

No j/k, I just think it's a silly question because if they weren't very fast; who the f**k would buy them?

Sorry for my arrogance but this question is really frustrating.

I have the TT01D (drift kit) and it is faster than a standard TT01 because of the 23T sport Tuned motor it is fitted with. It also has better shocks and is better set-up. Of course; you won't be getting very good acceleration on those drift tires. You'll want a set of rubbers to get the performance levels to satisfy you.

Chris.
