Wow they made them back then? The new power plan in the new xl-5 with a 550 motor and xl-5 speed control works pretty good especially on a 7 cell battery

Rare you are very close, came out in '94 and sold lots of places probably '95:
http://www.traxxas.com/about/trx_about_history.htm
The rustler and stampede both came to be at the same time.

Post pictures with and without body if possible as Rare mentioned.

I would use a 19t Money Motor and a 16t duratraxx esc.

Esc:

Motor:

Or this:

any 19-27 turn motor would be fine the trinty speedgems and reedy pulse or quad motors are great
and will work awsome with the msc that it has now

if u want super speed go with a good esc like the duratrax 8t and get a good trinity 11-12 turn motor

Stick with a stock type motor if you are planning on using that MSC. Probably 27t Cobalt or something if you want it to be an ok runner.

You could also just get a Traxxas Stinger from Towerhobbies... lol, but that isn't going to prove much better than what is already there.

If the MSC works ok just get a stock 27t pro motor as in the green machine pro, it will be lot better than the stock motor and won't cost all that much.
