RE: Motor Break-in?
Ok so im going to do the 2nd one...run it off 3 volts for 2 minutes. But am i going to have to take a apart a battery pack or just charge the pack till it gets to 3 volts?Meaning just completly drain the battery then wait till it cools down then wait a little bit more just to make sure them see how much energy is in there? Can i do that? if so then i could just chrge it to 3 volts right? Can you do that with a Duratrax Piranha Digital AC/DC Peak Charger? Because i bought that charger and it should be here in about a day or two. Thanks a Lot.

Everything is correct except the 3 minutes. You only need to run it underwater for about 5 seconds as this is how long it takes to seat the brushes on teh commutor. After this is done you should shoot the inside with motor spray to get out the moisture. After that oil the bearings/bushings. You can use special bearing drops but i use 3 in 1 machine oil.

I think break cleaner would be good. Looks and smells the same to me. I wouldn't use Wd-40. It does lubricate well but also attracts dirt. You can get 3in1 oil at any hardware store. Put a drop on the bering/bushing and spin the shaft a few times by hand.

You can use break cleaner as long as it is non-chlorinated.
I use oil that I have availlable. 3-1, "sewing machine" oil etc. Don't use automotive motor oil! And WD-40 isn't very good either.
About the underwater thing... Yes this is one of the techniques that some people uses... However you can run the motor with your 3 volts pack, dry, and still have a properly broken in motor. After 3-4 minutes of running, have a look at your brushes to see if they wear evenely... if yes then just use the motor!
