Default Memory Chip

Does anyone know of any type of memory chip that can be added to a car that remembers acceleration and slow down, left and right movement, and has the ability to recreate those same movements without a person having to use their radio? To better describe: imagine driving a car around a circular track and "saving" all of the motions associated with that car going around the track. Then calling those saved motions as Program A. Then being able to recall Program A and causing the car to drive along the exact same lines without using the radio.

I would appreciate any help.

Hmm, great idea. It would work theoretically, but minute differences will cause it to go haywire eventually. I don't think anything exist yet going from memory only.

Somebody made a computer program for microsizers that would do that. You would create the track layout in the software and then tell the program how to navigate the car around the track. There was a piece of hardware that would then act as the transmitter relaying the correct inputs to the car.

All of this was homebrew, the individual wrote the program and made the transmitter to computer interface hardware himself. Not sure what happened with it.

wasn't there some kinda robot out in the 80's that u could prog to run a certain pattern? w/ the advances in micro electronics today it is possible....but it would probably have to be a asphalt oval cause any deviation (off jumps, or loose corner would upset the whole prog

Why not just make it autonomous?

When I was growing up I had one of these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigtrak . You would program it with commands like forward 4, right 90, forward 1, scoop, back 1, fire photon beam, etc. I remember driving my parents crazy with the photon beam. This was back in the 80's just like the post above described.

I apprecite everyone's help. Access, I will look into the Bigtrak software. This is similar to what I will need. I am currently building a very large land unit that will essentually drive down a road, turn around and come back again. This will be set up on a timer and do this same route twice a day. You all have helped out. If I can help with any of your problems in the future feel free to shoot me a line.
