What brushless motor to go on a CC phoenix 80 esc?
Heya there, I am soon to be receiving an E-maxx that I got in a trade. This E-maxx is a tad different in that it uses 1/8th buggy steering components, a flat buggy chassis and a 2 speed auto 'box out of a Revo. Anyway, it currently has a Feigao 380XL motor hooked up to a CC phoenix 80 ESC (80 amp constant, 120 amp burst). I would like to fit a more powerful motor at some point, but I am relatively new to brushless and have no idea what I am looking for nor where to look for it. I think the esc is ok, and it's running a seperate UBEC so I plan on running 16.8 volts through it.
Essentially, can anyone give me any advice?
I need:
Something torquey enough to give an E-maxx decent get up and go.
Something relatively cheap (up to £70 or about $130).
Something that will work on the current ESC.
Something that will (preferably) give a stock nitro MT something to worry about.
Something that can handle a bit of voltage.
If I have to replace the ESC with something like a Quark 125 then I will...

You should probably replace the esc with the quark anyway, right now you are running a plane esc which has a low burst. If you really want to go nuts the Quark 125 and a Plettenburg bigMAXXimum would be my choice, a budget motor would be like a nemesis blue or something in that area.
