RC cars in the snow, pictures and discussion
I know I'm not the only one who loves driving my RC in the snow. My fiance took some pics of mine the other day, and I thought some of them were pretty cool.

Here is a photo and a video of my dark impact. Yea driving in the snow is about as fun as it gets except for having to worry about the electronics getting wet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lhqa9MhYxk
EDIT: By the way how do you like your e savage I have been considering getting one and was wondering if they are worth the price. Also how well do they do in the snow, because that would be the main reason I would get it.

RE: RC cars in the snow, pictures and discussion
I have probobally but 10 packs through my E-Savage in the snow, and everytime I am done running, I use an aircompressor to blow off all the electronics and motor good. I get as much of the snow and ice off of it that I can, then sit it inside on a towel to let tre remaining snow and ice that wont come off the TVP's and the rims. As soon is all of the snow is melted I use the aircompressor again to blow off any remaining moisture. You could also use vaseline around the seal on your radio box, and ESC to keep moisture out, tape would work too, or put them in a balloon.
I love my E-Savage, it is my favorite truck. I think it is well worth the price, the included batteries and charger are a good extra too. I drive the Savage alot, and have alot of fun with it. I have it, an rc18t, a micro t, and I traded a Nitro Rustler towards my Savage. I think I'm going to get an electric stadium truck this summer. But if I could only keep one, it would definately be the savage.
It does pretty good running in the snow. The second picture I posted the first time it is stuck in a drift (bottomed out). You can't tell in the pic but that drift is about 2 feet deep. It gets around in up to 4 or 5 inches pretty good, but deeper than that and you'll have to go get it after it loses it's momentum. I love driving it in the snow though, and it's very entertaining. I think it would do better in the snow with some more ggressive tread. The stock tires don't get a lot of traction on the ice and snow, but sliding around on it is alot of the fun, and you can still built up alot of speed. The only possible problem is that the shock oil gets really thick in the cold. But that will be true for all RC vehicles, you just need really thin shock oil, and stiffer springs.

Well not exactly a car (its a monster truck but I see people posting trucks as well... )
My Tamiya TXT-1 running around in the snow...

It was a lot of fun... But defrosting the rear end wasn't (after I was done playing.) LOL!

How do you like your TXT? I was considering one when I got my Savage. They look like apretty nice truck, but no where around me carries Tamiya, and I've never had a hands on experience with a Tamiya.

Do any of you use an inner-body when running electrics in the snow?
I just cut the curved part of a 2-liter bottle to cover them in my MGT and it seems to keep everything nice and dry. Although, the electronics are boxed pretty nicely to begin with in that truck.

Great Shots of the Esavage in the snow... I think with some bigger (Maxx) sized tires and an aggressive tread, the E-Savvy would be a great truck for bombing around.
Looks like the little factory road tires get caked up pretty quickly. 4wd of course helps in this situation!

I love my TXT-1. It's a great monster truck though I just wished it was better prepared out of the box. It comes with an MSC and some metal bushings (instead of ball bearings - it has some though). Apart from that its a real cool monster truck.
I have a EVX esc on it and I replaced the stock silver cans with two S600s and run it at 14.4v (two 6cell IB4200 stick packs).

I plan on upgrading the Savage this spring with s600 motors, Lipos, and bigger tires w/ offroad tread. The stock tires to cake up easily but in their defence, they last a long time and handle well on pavement.

Yep, I'm all for running the stockers in the dirt and pavement... they work great. Can't complain at all.
Just seems like the E-Savvy deserves better for true bashing. I just got mine, so it's totally stock.
