Kyosho Twin Force

RE: Kyosho Twin Force
I don't have a Twin Force, so my opinion is gonna be biased... maybe..
Twin Force should be quite a bit lighter.. not as scale.. no 4-link suspension (2 links, really).. not cantilever.. it will be a better basher, for jump, etc. stock, it will be faster by far..
TXT is a lot more scale.. I personally love the look.. cantilever gives you a lot of articulation if you want to climb over stuff.. I'd say the stock gears is slightly stronger than the Twin Force's gears.. but you can upgrade the Twin Force's gears w/ stuff from the 1/8th scale buggy / truggy / etc. Then it will be super tough..
If you are going after speed, though... I think you are better off w/ some independent suspended monster truck.. but TF is faster than the TXT..
My TXT is fast enough to be entertaining and I have no desire to go any faster.. w/ 14-cells, it is probably pushing 20mph.. LOL! But I am sure I can gear it up for more as it has so much torque (you can have it going at jogging speed and pull full throttle and it will pull a wheelie.. and this is a 10+ lbs trucks w/ full skids, etc.) but I prefer monster torque over speed as it is really not designed to handle high speed..
It is pretty durable.. I'd suggest you change out the ball connector to ball + screw, as those casted ball connector can be weak and if you snap one of those, you might have a hard time getting it out.. (other than drilling it out) But if you change the to ball + screws, it is pretty bulletproof.. I haven't broken anything since..
Good luck!!

RE: Kyosho Twin Force
You made some really good points in this page, but where do i get the ball+screw so i can switch them out.
When i was running it the 1st time i tried the stock motors(I didnt expect it to be fast anyway) and i had alot of
fun running, wanted more power so I put the E-maxx EVX and motors in it(way too much power) and i figured
it would be better running 1 pack(less weight) and a couple of 540 sized 19T mod motors for the speed I was looking for
(have not tried yet but really want to) So, a super duty XR can do this right, I just dont see the point in running E-maxx motors in it.
You did break a universal by the way, so i do need to remove those as well.[&:]
The Twin Force is another story that I'll buy the diffs I need in the near future when i want to run it again.

RE: Kyosho Twin Force
I like tamiya just as much as kyosho, both of them have been around a long time.
The only other kyosho that i want that is race worthy is the Lazer ZX5 4WD buggy. For 300 dollars its worth it.
I can only imagine running a mamba max in it. That would be so awesome!!

Yeah, but some of the other parts, especially the plastic, that's where Tamiya wins.

RE: Kyosho Twin Force
It's just about the same speed as an E-Maxx running in 2nd gear.
I've ran, and I own both, the twinforce is a tough monster truck, Id even compare it the E-Savage(another cool looking truck).
Since the tranny is a chain yes a chain it can handle any motor you put in it!
You could even run a dual mamba max setup with ease! If you reallly wanted too.

one more thing ,how fast does the twin force travels.i might buy this truck for its good features except for the diffs.

I still wish you could have seen mine run when it was. I was riding wheelies like crazy with the included wheelie bar.
Just hearing the thing run sounds sweet! [8D]

I'm sure there is a few still around on there. Its alot of fun LB and I know you'd want to run a brushless in it.
It can defintly handle it!

RE: Kyosho Twin Force
Time to put some life back into this thread. Gonna order those darn diffs very soon!!
I guess 2 of these:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJBM3&P=Z
And 2 of these and a brushless system will be bought later on, probably the HV 6.5 system.

After about 4 months of running it hard this occured....[:@] Stripped that sucker...bad...
This Monster Truck has to be the best ever, because it's so cheap and easy to bullet proof it.
That old model traxxas emaxx I had doesnt even compare to it.[8D]

The pinon and the diff is stripped on the front and rear....but with those Nitro diffs and it will be so bullet proof I
could even run a dual HV maxx setup and have a powerful beast.[8D]

RE: Kyosho Twin Force
Hi,
Here is mine ...pictures taken during building process(don`t mind poor cell photo quality)
Transmission
Almost complete chassis
almost complete truck without body and Mini Inferno ST
My first ever attemt to pain a body...I will rate it 3- in a 5 point scale
Mayden run
Crawling (with lose diffs)

Nice thing about this truck is diff Access.
Just remove these screws and poof, the diff can come out easily.
Diff maintence is a breeze due to this design.

RE: Kyosho Twin Force
So glad I bought one when I was working at Toyota. That hard earned money sure paid off.
Bought a new RC every week. Made about 700 bucks a week at one time.
Now I'm unemployed...[:@] Looking to get into computers since I have my PC Tech Degree now.
Working at the court house Id be getting all the best benifits(Free health, Free Dental), Toyota wouldnt even compare.
Yeah this Twin Force is so much funner to drive than an Emaxx. At least now I dont have to worry about finding one.
Worth Every Penny.

RE: Kyosho Twin Force
Either try there or ebay I suppose. Ebay would probably be your best bet, and there is also one on here for 399.00.
It's worth it because the truck kit iteslf was 250 and you just get tires the chassis and two 550 motors.
I ran the Esc from my E-maxx in it. But now since I did get used to driving it, Novak HV 6.5 MAXX time!
