i have mamba max 6900 set up on my MF2, set up is 20% punch control. low start power, 20% drag, 50% reverse, 50% brake, normal timing, and default throttle and brake curve..

I also have a mamba max ESC with a nemisis 540s 6t sensorless brushless motor on my evader. that set up is, 20% punch control, medium power, 20 drag, 50 brake,50 reverse, normal timing, and i adjusted the throttle curve on that one for slower acceleration up to 40% throttle and then anything after that is pretty default. IMO mamba max ESC best bang for the buck. here are pics of my 2 rides.

I'm pretty happy with how I have my Mamba Max systems set up. I'm posting my setup in case it helps someone.

Both cars are XRAY T2'007 US. Batteries are (practice) Elite 4500 and (race) IB4200WC.

On the brushless, I made the ESC-motor wire connection as short as possible because the motor is already extremely heavy. By lowering my wire weight I lower the amount of lead counter-weight on the right front side. Even like this I have to run 35g of lead on the right side and PT in the middle. Whereas on the brushed car, I run no lead and PT on the left side of the servo.

--ESC settings, brushless (MM 4600 and 5700):
Proportional w/ reverse lockout
25% brake
25% reverse
disabled punch control
10% drag brake
high start power
low motor timing
no cutoff
brushless

--ESC settings, brushed (stock and Checkpoint 19t Money):
Proportional w/o reverse
50% brake
disabled punch control
0% drag brake
high start power
normal motor timing
no cutoff
high power brushed

I nearly shat myself when my new mamba let out the magic smoke [X(] took the case off and found the brown wire had shorted on the red motor wire, cut the wire off and solder it back on and its good as new [sm=biggrin.gif]

then get the higher kv since ur track i big and all that grip will help hook up the tires. and when off the track you get awsome 6cell speed. i race the 7700 and i think people don't give it a chance cause i can drive it and never have to worry about hooking up the tires

i disagree you saw what happened when we raced, i have the lower KV mamba and it has more torque i took you off the line, torque is way more important that top end, you you really want a mamba for racing my suggestion is go lower and get either the 4600 or the 5700. trust me you will never reach the top end in a race track with the mamba 7700, so might as well get the quickest accelleration one.

Thanks for all post everyone! I will hopefully get my new MM5700 for my Rustler in today.

I also have a FLM MM5700 on a Stampede. I cant remember all the settings but I know the timing is turned to the lowest setting.
7-8 cell IB4200
15t Pinion
86t Spur
Stock size tires
Deans connectors
Aluminum Idler
(Also ran E-Maxx wheels and tires with no overheating on 12/90 gearing)

EDIT:This is a older pic though! Sorry I havent got any new ones yet!
I will post more about my Rustler when I get it done.

Since the death of my Gravel Hound at the hands of the MM7700 I put mines in my TA-04 R and added some HPI superstars. Two questions though...why are most people opting for the 5700 and not the 7700 if on 3 cel lipo, it is faster than the 7700 on 2s lipo? I wanted the fastest on 6 cell NIMH. Also...is there a benefit to connecting the motor directly to the ESC? I am seeing it done here and was wondering why.

im going for the 5700, because of the size of my track, all acceleration and no top end

The 7700 on 2s is fast, but the 5700 on 3s is ballistic. I originally ran the 5700 w/3s in my t2, but all it would do is wheelie or flip which got kinda boring. So I transplated it into a new Dark Impact and melted the rear diff in about 5 mins. (no slipper + pavement = BAD) But for 5 mins it was the fastest car I've ever had. Head to head with my TRF415 with a 7700 w/2s was over in about 2ft, but it took everything I had to keep it straight!

I retired my TA04R due to limited battery space, but since they've come out with so many new lipo packs that will fit in a stick pack slot, I may have to get another Mamba.

OK I just installed my new Mamba Max 5700 on my Rustler. Im was running a 15/86 gearing setup with normal timing and the Temp got to 240 degrees(Im glad its still working!!!). Im running 15/86 on my Pede and the Temp never gets above 160. I dont understand!!!!!!!!
Now I have my Rustler at 12/90 with the lowest timing and it still gets to 180-190. How is everyone keeping their temps low on their Rustlers? I dont really want it super fast, I just want decent speeds and low temps. But with 12/90 gearing and lowest timing what else can I do besides a heatsink on the motor?

I also have the aluminum FLM trany on the Pede, that might help a little.
