A magazine (I think it was Xtreme RC) did a head-to-head comparison. They liked the S a little more than the T2R. Also, I don't think you can buy a T2R any more.

so should i go with the S because you can still buy it? and it seems really popular everywhere i look its (most of the time) sold out

I was deciding between the cyclone and Xray T2 a couple of months ago. I ended up picking up a used T2 from a guy at the local track and I can not be more happy. The xray is an amazing engineered machine. Everyone at my track races with them, and although they might look fragile b/c of all the graphite parts the thing is a tank. Only thing that breaks on them is the knuckles or front hubs, both are $6 pieces, other than that the car is a tank. Its so easy to tune and properly set up. All I have to say is I love my xray and could not be happier with any other car.

i would have gone with the cyclone s cause its a good starter and you can use any part from the cyclone family on it to make it far superior to the t2R when your skills improve.
