Default 2.2 Tire Question

I see some people running the same tires front and rear on 2wd stadium trucks(t4,t3 etc) instead of ribbed tires up front.

What are the pro's and con's of this setup?

Thanks

Thanks, I ran those on a Rustler before, they were a great allterain tire.

I was thinking more about race tires, bowtie's,lugnut's,holeshot's etc.

It did cross my mind to try those as they last a long time and look cool too

Running the rear tire on the front makes the truck less aggressive or twitchy. I read in a magazine that the ribbed front tire are not to consistent (they grab let go then grab ) where the rear on the front has more contact area on the ground = more traction. Here at my track we run 3m hole shots all the way around. I think were i read that was in this month’s RC car action where the reader writes i believe. Hope that this helped.

It seems lately that more and more of the podium winners are using those tires up front. I haven't tried it yet either, but I am going to. I am using panther ribbed right now, but I may just go to x2000s or taper pins or even king pins up front. The winner in our last race used king pins all around! And this is a taper pin track too. There are some guys here using panther clays all around too. They dope those tires with wd-40 and I can hear their tires squealing around turns. I don't really know the pros, but I think cons are that they will wear out quicker than ribbed. This guy at the track tells me he wears out a set of fronts for every two of rears which is fairly quick.
