Default Got my T4 RTR today... somethings wrong, please help!!

OK, on your guys suggestions I ordered the Associated T4 RTR and I got it today, i don't want to say it sucks, but until I can figure out what the deal is it does. Ha

Anyway it seems to have not torque. It takes forever to get up to speed, it wont do a "burn out" to save its life, and if you put it in the grass it wont budge. I read the manual, i did not see anywhere how I can adjust the gears or whatever. I thought maybe the speed control needed to be reset, and calibrated, but no directions on that either.

So what is is wrong? I'm new to this R/C world... so please let me know. I was so excited to see the UPS guy, now the day sucks!!!

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

that is one of the bad thing about the rtr t4 it does not come with a good motor it doesnt have any torque but decent top speed, so if you wanted a better motor then this one would be a good choice [link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMDY8&P=7[/link] and also what batteries are you running?

You might want to read through the manual that came with it and find the section on adjusting the slipper clutch. It is easy to do. All you need to do is pull out a plastic plug and tighten a nut. It is explained clearly in the book.

I have a T4 RTR, and while it is true the stock motor isn't the best, if the slipper is adjusted properly it wil go in grass and do burn outs in dirt no problem

New packs need a low amp charge at first, but after a few runs, the battery can be charged normally @3-4apms quickly or quicker

I tighted that "slipper clutch" BIG difference!! But I had to tighten it all the way, is that OK or a bad idea?? Still seems slow, but i got the holiday weekend to play around with it.

Anymore tips, and/or tricks of the trade about the T4 let me know.

Thanks

Glad the info on the slipper helped I'm an old fart back into RC after a 20+ years. My last RC car was a Grasshopper...actually still have it in the closet, but it needs new radio gear. The T4 is a great lil beast in mho... granted you may not be able to jump it over your house like some Traxxas cars, but it is a Cadillac right out of the box! Jumped mine with a 7 cell pack over 26 feet in distance off of a 14 inch high ramp...LMAO!! I would suggest if you just like to beat around (bash), save up $40-50 and get a Checkpoint Money motor. The stock motor is just something to get you playing.

Enjoy your new toy!!!
